Cliff the coach
February 18, 2007 by Jason Guarente
Former Barnstormer Cliff Smith will begin his first season as Elizabethtown’s head baseball coach when the Blue Jays take
on Shenandoah Saturday. The ex-relief pitcher was hired by E-town in December.
Smith, 27, was an All-Star during his three-month stay with the Barnstormers in 2005. The righthander posted a 3-3 record and 1.43 ERA in 33 games. He was picked up by the Pirates in July and finished the season in Single-A. Smith retired at the end of the summer.
The five-year pro talks about his transition into coaching here.

Joel Schreiner of the Intell wrote a story about Cliff Smith trying to lead E-town to its 1,000th victory.
