According to the Frontier League’s official site, former Barnstormer Chris Clem has signed with the River City Rascals. First point: That’s a great team name. Second: It’s nice to see an independent league so diligent about publicizing its transactions.
Clem, 23, posted a 4.10 ERA in 15 games after coming to the Barnstormers from the Road Warriors in August. The righthander is about to start his third year of pro ball. He pitched in low-A for the Cardinals in 2005.

Whatever happened to Kris Dufner? I know he left Lancaster on a sour note last year.
Scott,
The Barnstormers are considering bringing Dufner back as a utility man. He seems like a good fit. He plays second base, third base and shortstop — and he showed he can take advantage of that short porch at the Clip. Dufner hit seven homers in 120 at-bats at home last season.
I agree, he would be a good fit. I guess the question is, would he come back after everthing that was said or was that between him and Herr.
Neither Hake nor Dufner was happy when Herr decided to bring back Jason Bowers for the playoffs last year. I didn’t agree with the move. I thought Hake and Dufner deserved a chance to play. But there’s no denying that Bowers made the team better and Herr’s job was to win — which he did.
Frank Klebe has a way of mending fences, so I think Dufner would return if the situation was right. Everyone likes Klebe.
