Stevens deal finalized
March 15, 2007 by Jason Guarente
Josh Stevens has officially been re-acquired from the Nashua Pride in exchange for future considerations. Stevens went 2-0 with 2.63 ERA in two starts for the Barnstormers in September and was the winning pitcher in Game 2 of the team’s playoff series against Atlantic City.
The “future considerations” could mean a player who gets released at the end of spring training. Or it could mean nothing. This is a key addition for the Barnstormers. Stevens has the potential to be a top-of-the-rotation starter in the Atlantic League.

Thats great news!
It looks like our pitching staff is taking shape with the addition of Josh Stevens. Maybe there will be another Atlantic League Championship for 2007. With the addition of Brett Evert,Clayton Andrews,Derrick DePriest and closer James Lira and we can sign another closer [like Matt Knox]. A few starters and middle relievers like Scott Sobkowaik,Brian Whitaker,”Cam” Smith,Ross Peeples,Andy Zwirchitz [if healthy],Todd Pennington and possibly John Boker. We can repeat.
Andy Zwirchitz is hurt..he had off season shoulder surgery so he’s not available until July or so I think. Matt Knox retired and now runs a baseball training facility in Mount Joy. Not sure the status on the other guys but I did think John Boker was a good pickup last year. I would be interested in seeing him get some more time with us this year.
