Former Barnstormers pitcher Derek Griffith has signed with the Slippery Rock Sliders of the Frontier League. Griffith is a 6-6 lefty who won’t turn 25 until October, so there’s still plenty of time for him to earn another affiliated shot.
Other former Stormers in the Frontier League include Alex Derhak, Chris Clem and Domingo Acosta.

Bo Hart is the Barnstormers’ starting second baseman. He’s hitting .227 with one homer and eight RBIs in 21 games.
The nine-year veteran reached the big leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2003. After spending most of the past four years with Triple-A Memphis, this is Hart’s first season in independent ball.

As expected, there were a few transactions today …
Clayton Andrews has officially joined the team. He’ll be removed from the inactive list in time to start Monday’s game against Camden. The Barnstormers have released relief pitchers Derek Griffith and Todd Pennington. Reliever Manny Vazquez-Santiago was activated from the disabled list.
