Griffith to Frontier League
May 31, 2007 by Jason Guarente
Former Barnstormers pitcher Derek Griffith has signed with the Slippery Rock Sliders of the Frontier League. Griffith is a 6-6 lefty who won’t turn 25 until October, so there’s still plenty of time for him to earn another affiliated shot.
Other former Stormers in the Frontier League include Alex Derhak, Chris Clem and Domingo Acosta.

To bad he couldn’t get that shot with us.
Great for Derek!
Anything going to come from the Dario Delgado trade. It said is was for that famous player “to be named later”.
It’s possible the Barnstormers could get a player from Schaumburg at some point. The Northern League season ends a couple of weeks before the Atlantic League’s does. It’s a question of whether Schaumburg has a player good enough to excel in the Atlantic League.
For all that, the PTBNL could end up being Delgado.
Griffith pitched five shutout innings and earned a win in his debut for Slippery Rock Thursday night. He allowed two hits and walked six.
Still struggling with control…I am from Griff’s hometown and have watched him pitch, for years. Never has control been an issue. Hopefully, he will get things straightened out.
