Some positive news …
Barnstormers manager Frank Klebe has been selected to manage the South Division All-Stars in the Atlantic League’s showcase event at Clipper Magazine Stadium on July 11.
“Frank was an integral part of Tom Herr’s coaching staff during the 2006 season,” Atlantic League executive director Joe Klein said in a team statement released Thursday. “It’s very appropriate that Frank pinch hits for Tom and manages the South Division squad.”
Bridgeport’s Tommy John will manage the North stars.

Is this really a big surprise? Since Tom Herr is no longer here Frank got the “nod” because he is Lancasters manager NOW. Same with Tommy John…..Had both Dave LaPoint and Tom Herr still been with their last years playoff teams…(finals) they would have been managing this game.
I was just on the Ottawa Lynx website and Charlie Weatherby is the probabl starter for tonight. This might be his chance to stake a claim on that 5th starter the Phillies need! Check out his stats, he has only had one bad inning which resulted in a loss and hurting his ERA.

I am taking the over on the bet on sacrifice bunts for the South All Stars.
I am taking the over on how many butts Murry will smoke before the game and the over on how long will he keep a pitcher in the game.
I was just thinking.. maybe the bloggers can all chip in or start a fund to purchase a Suite just for the bloggers. Then we could all sit up there like geeks and throw paper airplanes at Jason and make fun of everyone! How much are they a season?
BASA–If your listening, we promise if you give us a good deal, we will lay off all the negative BASA talk!
You mean, we can be bought??? Never
I think we should all sit in the extra row of seats behind Jason in the press box. They are never being used and we can all hook up to the network and blog.
And if Jason starts to stray away, we can help focus him back on the game.
new promo for next year – let the bloggers manage a regular season game
Pack! You blew our cover! I was just trying to one up them. Once we sealed the deal the fight for BASA’s demise would continue of course.
Oh well, I’m sure they would make sure Blogger Land would never exist. Not just because of our ongoing BASA fight, but also because the Blogger suite would eventually turn into a den of sin!
Then Jason would be torn. Does he expose us for a good story or does he stay faithful to his people and look the other way?
I will be interested in seeing what our “great groundskeeper” has done to the field when we get back next Tuesday. I hope our field looks like an All Star field.
Maybe they will paint the bare spots green to match the field. That way they won’t look so bad from the seats.
Sorry, Mr. B, I am not as smart as you. You will have to leave me in on the plan privately next time.
Men, & Ladies, I don’t think we have the muscle to take on this BASA machine. We need a fellow Michigander who can get down and dirty with these folks. I’ll send Michael Moore and email to see if I can get him to take on the world of BASA in his next documentary.
I’m sorry about the poor condition of the field.
My kids made it their own personal playground on scout sleepover night.
I knew i should have left the shovels, rakes, and can of grubs at home…
Camp fires in the outfield are tough, even if you put back the sod when your done.
