VS NEWARK BEARS
Jose Garcia (1-0, 7.47 ERA) vs.
Rob Henkel (4-7, 4.94 ERA)
If the Barnstormers are going to put together a winning streak, this is the time to do it. Lancaster is about to start a nine-game homestand, including three games against suddenly pitching-starved Newark, three against Camden (which is 7-11 in the second half) [...]

Here are some off day musings …
* Zack Parker was with the team in Newark Sunday and, obviously, will be in uniform when the Barnstormers play the Bears Tuesday. Initially, Parker will be placed in the bullpen.
“In talking with his agent, he made no bones of the fact he’d like to start,” said BASA executive [...]

The Barnstormers’ doubleheader against the Newark Bears was postponed Sunday. It was rescheduled for Aug. 13 — previously an off day for both teams. The Barnstormers and Bears will return to action Tuesday at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

AT YORK REVOLUTION
Byron Batson (1-2, 5.40 ERA) vs.
Brett Evert (4-6, 5.50 ERA)
Is York for real? That 10-3 record is certainly impressive, but before anyone labels the Revs the second-half favorite, it’s important to note that York is still a desert for starting pitching. The three starters scheduled to face Lancaster in this series – [...]

AT YORK REVOLUTION
Chris Steinborn (5-8, 6.18 ERA) vs.
Josh Stevens (7-3, 3.75 ERA)
The Revolution is the surprise leader in the South Division. York has won 14 of its last 18 games and is 9-3 in the second half. It leads second-place Somerset by two games. That makes this a vital series for the Barnstormers, who [...]

VS BRIDGEPORT BLUEFISH
Mike Porzio (7-5, 4.21 ERA) vs.
Rob Henkel (4-6, 5.13 ERA)
The Barnstormers are facing yet another left-handed pitcher tonight. It’s the eighth time in 10 games they’ve gone against a southpaw. They hope to have better luck against Porzio than they did against Matt Beech on Monday. This is the final game of [...]

Gustavo Martinez (4-6, 4.37 ERA)
So the Barnstormers move forward. It’s Game 1 of the unexpected Rick Wise Era. More importantly, it’s a chance for the team to get a fresh start and put together a winning streak. Lancaster is 3-7 and four games behind first-place York in [...]
