That must be what happened. Well, if he came and went that fast, it's probably just as well that I missed him. And really, being a Nats fan, I was more into seeing if Dmitri Young did anything in the game. I was surprised to see Young there instead of Ryan Zimmerman.

Howard made it on tv. But he went out so quick, that if you went to the kitchen to make a sandwich, you missed him

If you didnt know already, Mike's virtual first half shows us why they play the games. Long Island ran away with their division. I guess Mike's program didnt have the variable "player is more caught up in his own stats than being in the Atlantic League." Long Island with their big ex-Major Leaguers show that it isnt all about stats. You need a few players like Russ Cleveland to help add those intangibles. I think the trading of Russ to Lancaster from York is much bigger than I had originally thought. I left out those intangibles.

I don't know if I agree with Van Note having 14 home runs and 45 RBIs, but that's not bad. More reason to hold out home for at a significantly less painful second half.

Check out the Atlantic League Baseball News Website. Mr. Mike "Way to Much Time on My Hands: Ashmore did a simulated (computer) first half race and even though Camden won it again, Lancaster finish second with a record of 39-24, tied with Somerset.

He is posting the second half and playoff results tomorrow. Now I can see how we do and take the rest of the summer spending quality time with the family instead of going to the (already) figured out ball games.

Cool feature Mike.

I totally agree Stormin. Last year I think they all wore their regular team jerseys for the HR derby.

I was wondering why the players were wearing "National" and "American" league jerseys during the Home Run Derby but during the All Star Game, everyone was wearing their own team jersey. Looked like pick up game of misfits.

It would have been cool to see them in the "National" and "American" league jerseys during the All Star Game. Kind of a TEAM thing you know.

Mark--Yeah the home run derby was disappointing. I was really excited to see Fielder who also didn't do much. I also wonder how they end up picking who will compete too? I would assume they have to get invited and are there any incentives besides the chance to show your swing? I still want to see someone beat Bobby Abreau's record which shouldn't be that hard of a record to beat. That's why I wish more bigger names would compete.

Mr B - I was kind of wondering what happened to Pujols and Ryan Howard during the Home Run Derby. Pujols did miserably...for Pujols....and if Ryan Howard even made it on TV, it was so fast that I must have blinked and missed it. The All-Star game wasn't bad but the Home Run Derby left a lot to be desired, I thought.
