AT BRIDGEPORT BLUEFISH
Matt Beech (10-7, 4.66 ERA) vs.
Rob Henkel (6-8, 5.24 ERA)
Despite playing two games that went 19 innings and lasted 6 hours and 48 minutes Thursday night, the Barnstormers went nowhere. They are still two games under .500 and they still trail York by four games in the loss column. Failing to sweep that doubleheader really hurt, especially with the way it taxed the team’s pitching staff.
Pre-game notes:
– Before Beech became famous for getting attacked by Jose
Offerman, Bridgeport’s pitcher was known in Lancaster for baffling the Barnstormers. Beech is 3-1 with a 2.10 ERA in four games, including two starts in which he allowed one hit in seven innings.
– This is the sixth consecutive game in which the Barnstormers have faced a left-handed starter — which has put the spotlight on Lancaster’s lefty-heavy lineup. The Barnstormers have needed a right-handed power bat all season and — except for Felix Jose’s cameo — they haven’t gotten one. In fact, BASA is back to ignoring the defending champs, who haven’t added to their roster since July 29.
– BASA’s record on the whole isn’t very good. Of their four teams, only Camden has a winning overall record and only York has a winning record in the second half. Each team under the BASA umbrella, including Bridgeport, has endured long stretches of awful play . This is further evidence the arrangement needs to be altered — if not overhauled.
FINAL: Bluefish 10, Barnstormers 2
RECORD: 18-21 (47-55)
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Matt Beech (8 innings, 8 hits, 2 runs). It was Beech’s first start since Jose Offerman’s bat attack on Aug. 17. The former big leaguer still owns the Barnstormers. He’s 4-1 with a 2.14 ERA against them this season.
SOME DETAILS: Another lefty handcuffed the Barnstormers. Lancaster is 2-4 during this road trip and has faced lefty starters in each game. The team’s vulnerability was exposed. Again.
*Rob Henkel didn’t have it. Lancaster’s starter couldn’t escape the fourth. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 inning as he fell to 6-9. It has been a long summer for Henkel, who was pitching for the Pawtucket Red Sox this time last year.
*Ryan Harris took one for the team. After pitching 3 1/3 innings the previous two nights, Harris grinded through 2 2/3 innings in this one to help save the rest of the bullpen.
*The Barnstormers still have four games on this 10-game road trip. They have lost two of three to Bridgeport, which was in last place – behind the Road Warriors – when this series began. Playoff hopes could best be described as flickering at this point.
DIVISION RACE: Somerset defeated the Road Warriors 3-2 and Newark beat York 10-7. That means the Patriots have taken over sole possession of first place by a half-game. The Barnstormers are five games out.

Ahhh to blogg on a nice clean slate. Nice shot of Jutt
I think we should try for 800 on game 100 .
Yesterday – Favorite Infielder, Today – Favorite Outfielder. Thanks Jason.
Your observations and points about Somerset the other day were right on. Their roster loses were much more severe than the Barnstormers yet they adjusted and made the proper additions that have kept them in contention for the 2nd half title. Yes, the Barrnstormers tweaked the roster a tad, and are an improved team, but they never made the big change to put the team over the hump. The supposed signing of Reggie may have been that big move. But he is NEEDED NOW. His bat would have made a huge difference last nite.
Now they are at the point in the schedule where they can’t do it themseves. It just as important for York and Somerset to lose as the Barnstormers win. Go Road Warriors and Newark. Hope Newark continues their dominace over York eight more times.
Hey there is Jutt, cool picture!!!!
Since the flurry of transactions to start the second half, BASA has made one move: Zack Parker. It was a good one. Other than that, things went right back to first-half form. There has been no understanding of the team’s weaknesses since the beginning of the season, which is why the team continues to have the same struggles.
Clutch Hitting.
Wow…I actually agree with all the posts on here so far today! Re Reggie Taylor…I would think so too..needing him now….but apparently no one wants to give up the answers on this one!
Rad…Steve will have a present for James when the team returns home. I am sure he will love it!
I just went back and found out that Reggie was signed on July 27…almost a month ago? What gives? Stormin and Rad….this is feeding my theory quite well.
hey AA tell Steve hi
I’m sure I could guess what the present is
I hope Reggie was signed to play baseball and not call me to see if I’ll return as a season ticket holder.
But.. is he on the payroll? Hummm..
Lets just keep the Reggie theories to ourselves wink, wink.
I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
Good luck tonight guys!!!!
juttgirl..right back at ya!
Rad….yes its yummy..haha.
I knew IT.. I’ve never had that type so I’ll have to try… if he will share .
Oh no.. getting the evil eye from hubby.. “God, you were on there 12 hours last night.. wasn’t that enough”?
We now have a Wii so I might not be here to much tonight… I’ll be playing baseball myself, sooo cool !!!
I met Boosterbabe. She told me to say hi to all her Lancaster blogger friends. I am also well supplied with goodies.
Start us off Mike!
Yes but how are her brownies???
you can tell me in Ddooorrrk
Look Scott, you created a avator monster
Have to play Wii.. see ya later
Had to change my identity to introduce the winged helmet to the blog. Can’t believe it wouldn’t accept “&” in my user name. Bet it would have accepted $.
Lets get this run back boys!!
Sorry, Jason. Apparently a few of us have created some “avatar” monsters.
Rad, the wii tennis is the greatest, have fun!
Wow Dom is “Hot” again (in a baseball way).
Maize, did you try “And”.
Dave, you sound well rested, or maybe, well druged.
SAWEEEET!
Yes, yes, JT comes through again.
Hey Mr. B, have you heard from Jr. lately.
Mr B. Dave called you a “pest”. Something that will not go away. Come on Steve, straighten it out.
A little rested, but I still have this blasted cold. It was so nice of the team to share its germs.
Way to go JT for tying the game, come on guys!!!
I wasn’t referring to Mr. B.
Thanks for not going on the DL and bringing us some more great baseball.
Joni loved Chachi,, and heegav e her NOTHIN!!
come on Robby Boy! find your stride!!
It’s ok guys, I can take a hint… Just remember something when I’m gone… I LOVED YOU!!
Any one know if Fidel Castro really died today??
Hey stormin…I finally got a chance to look at that cd of photos…I will be printing off a bunch of those to get signed….thanks…I love the JT pitching bp ones!!!!
Wait.. Dave I have a cold too, just came down with it Tuesday Hummm.. interesting
We’re down by three. Come on Henkie
The Wii is exhausting!!! think I need some batting lessons.
Mr. B.. haven’t heard a thing on Fidel. I’ll call my family at FOX .. give me a few
Crap… not home. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear
It’s funny, a story leaked earlier today and the news started to report it. Then it quickly became uncertain if it’s true so they pulled the story from all the networks and no one is talking about it.
Come On Stormers
Dave.. tell that big in front of you to lighten up… Ha
oops.. should be … big MOUTH
As for me..I think the 2nd half championship is down the tubes and I’ll leave it at that.
Rad…why the Canadian flag? Or whatever the heck that maple leaf thing is?
Geez..now its Henkie…what are you doing?
Mr B. This is from Fox News. “The word in Cuba is that Fidel Castro is very much alive”
Sorry AA, we have created a monster.
Yes, I can hear the buffoon as well. But, if I say anything, it will only get worse. Unless, of course, it becomes profane, then I can sic the ballpark gendarmes (sp.?) onto him.
Thats for sure…as if its not enough that a few of you have more alias names than a convicted felon…now we have avatars that change by the minute…wow I am getting dizzy! haha.
Amy. It’s the Toronto Blue Jays old symbol.. the red maple leaf was the only thing that would fit in the little avator box
I’ll “upload” it again
Stormin, yes, thanks, I did try “and” and it kept changing it to maize-and-blue. So I let go as maizeblue. BTW, I’ve been listening to Newark vs York. Newark up 5 zip in the bottom of 4th. How are the barnstormers doing?
What ja think Stormin???
york is loosing 5-1.
Where you get that score. I thought I was listening to a live broadcast on WSBA 910. Newark leading 6 to nothing top of the 5th.
Aspito hit a home run for York. Now 6 to 1.
Rad..ok…I figured it was something to do with the blue jays but I wasnt sure..thanks.
Oh and Rad..I will make sure Steve saves you a couple so you can try it..
Dave…you really think bringing in Jeremy or Russ to pitch makes a travisty of the game? I am not so sure about that….after last nights game you gotta think that the only arms that are even semi fresh are the position players!! haha.
I think we need to see Jeremy’s knuckler?
But the problem is…can Wise figure out how to mess around with the lineup enough to make sense? Apparently he doesnt realize the concept behind pinch hitting….
I’m calling it a night here..there’s nothing more to say..our team stinks..no denying that…
Well, it is making a statement that you are either throwing in the towel or need a lot of help. We badly needed another pitcher with Evert going on the DL.
2-1 Patriots over Road Warriors, top 5, in case anyone cares…
I regretfully agree with you Pitch. It doesn’t mean that there is no good baseball left though. Should be an interesting off season. Who will manage? Will BASA survive? I have a feeling there might be a mass exodus from the team, so then who will be back? Who will ODP beef up and will it make us happy or piss us off? If God created everything did he create sin? …. I always struggled with that one.
Well, if the nothing else changes, there will be a new team in1st place.
No matter which way you slice it, this current predicament is not good at all.
Thats right….and yes we dont need another lefthanded hitting outfielder.
we need help.. Reggie’s build up has been too much. He is late.
Steve….good grab but doh’
score? please.
How is Steve, didn’t he get hit twice last night.
I would like to see either one of those guys in!!!! maybe one of them could really help the team!!!
8-2
but i would choose # 17!!!
What we need is off in the distance. We can see it, but just barely. It’s hard to tell which way it is going.
Actually, nevermind, thats just my dog taking a smash up on the hill.

- Bob the Alcoholic
I have nothing left in the tank. Not even with the pick-me-up of Boosterbabe’s brownies.
Jsut read about the Castor rumors.. Officials in Miami are just in the planning stage… what streets they will close and how to handle the celebration… he isn’t dead … YET
Revs making a game of it. Now trail 6 to 5.
So, whats the scoop on Brett? which part of the bod was the MRI… I know your readin this Brett..
hope it’s not serious
Bob the Alcoholic can you speak it as well as you write it?
The picture is for Brett.
Speaking of alcohol.. After tonight I think we all need a few shots of.. anything strong!
The Revs game sounds like a good one!
Tape on the ear Dave?
We feel for ya Dave. Don’t know how you do it sometimes. Must of been tough before the internet.
Tape on the ear hole/ear flap.
Hope all is well with Brett
dadTB pointed that out to me two week a ago. I thought the helmet was cracked and he had it taped together… but I guess it’s not worth a cracked skull.
You have to ask him whats up with the tape.
That sounded like a nice play
Aspito and Dryer hit HR’s in the top of the 8th. York still batting in top of 8th trailing 8 to 7.
Back from dinner and errands. York is still loosing. We need to win this one.
S*%t 9-2, CRAP
Barry is starting tomorrow and who is backup?
Rad,
That is a good question.
Chage you Avatar Rad, it’s bringing bad luck.
OK
Dave, I hope the Atlantic League puts together a better schedule for the teams next year. Last year was so nice having most Mondays off. It gave us chances to make up games vs doing a Double Header. Also made it nice with the weekend series vs the mess we have this year. Who starts a series on a Sunday.
Hows this?
You can say that again… no days off since the All Star break. I sorry but they don’t make enough money to stay in game form/frame of mind, day after day after day
Nothing changed?
Last year’s schedule was my creation. This year’s showed up in my email inbox in late October.
We had off days on 7/30 and 8/6.
When you hear the moo, you know what to do. Shake it up.
We vote you take it back over because apparently, someone does not know how to make up a schedule.
Again, no “Clutch Hitting”.
Stormin.. what do you think of this face???
Crap… more runs??
Extra brownies for Dom.
Why haven’t we picked up a pitcher due to Evert being on the DL?
I love the soccer chant.
They live by the home run and die with the strike out. No one hits a single with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the only time they hit a fly ball with a runner on 3rd is when there are 2 outs.
I think the boys miss the cow-bell clan
I don’t have an answer.
Yes, whatever happened, Dave made it sound exciting. Keep it up. Let’s bat around this inning.
I will have my “Cow Bell” there at the York game.
do you like the picture… thought you could use a chuckle
Newark wins 10 to 7.
Correction 10 to 8 was the final.
When Jason does not show up, we loose. Coincidence?
cowbell time
Why do you look at three pitches?
Ting, Ting, Ting, Ting, Ting.
No Stormin.. your not there. They should give you a speical seat on the bus
Believe me, if being there would help them win, I would be there.
Come on guys, give me some clutch hitting.
Can’t feel to bad for Beech.. It’s nice that his is still alive after the last time he was on the mound.
Good night all. See you tomorrow..
It’s not over yet.
yes it is.. strike out final pitch of the game..
Now it is. Good try guys. We know you guys have to be tired. Get a good nights rest and we start a winning streak tomorrow night.
Sportsjuice delay.
Dave, it’s not over till it’s over.
1,780 paid attendence. Sad, very sad.
There is nothing like watching that Youtube of last year’s playoff game. It almost makes you forget about this year being over. Mr. B is right in post #70. This year is history, but there is still some enjoyable ball to watch.
I have had enough of the hopes that we were going to pull it out and get to the playoffs. But I will go to the games and hopefully be entertained with some more good baseball this year.
Keep at ‘em, Barnstormers!!!!!!!!
Thanks again Dave for a good called game. Get some rest too.
Somerset 3 RW 2 final.
I am sorry Pack amd Mr B, I can’t say it is over yet. It only takes one thing to get things going on a positive role.
Yeah, get some rest. Remember–you have to mop up after Zack this weekend.
Looks like Somerset, a non BASA team, is making a run for it.
I know you are ever-positive. But there are too many obstacles for a team which is not even at .500 for the half.
Not that –they dont give it their all. It just aint goin’ to happen.
I think we all can agree with the Player of the Game for this one; Matt Beech.
How about naming John Nathans as co-Player of the game?? Without his heroics, Matt would not have pitched tonight.
If some of you Red Sox fans out there are Pats fans too, The Pats are looking real good in their game against NC. They are stacked this year!! I can’t wait for football!!!
Agree #146.
Sad night. Sad week. But there is always last year, next year, and next series at home against the Ducks. The thing I love about our fans is I don’t think they give up on the guys on the team even if the team is out of it.
I am a Patriot fan and I agree with #147!!! Go Patriots!!!!
Camden sweeps the Ducks in L.I. tonight. 6-3 GAME 1,5-1 GAME 2
Go Cowboys!!!!!!
This is an odd number year, that means a championship fo rSomerset.
I agree with with #149, we will stick with the stormers thru thick and thin no matter what. Let’s get the Bluefish tomorrow night guys!!!!!
Giants in the house.
Is Penn State the favorite for you guy’s In Lancaster?
That QB for the Pats was once 7th on the Michigan depth chart. There are a lot of people who are glad he had the perserverance to stick it out. I don’t think the teams quit yet, so defy the odds and stickit out a while longer.
Go Steelers!!!!
Rooting for University of Florida in college football here. My daughter attends UF.. I am a Pitt alum, so I am not allowed to root for PSU
University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.
I wonder if Hofstra University has a football team?
Are you allowed to root for both the Sooners and the Cowboys??? That is like rooting for the Eagles and the Dallas Cowgirls.
Hofstra has rugby and coed flag football
Maizeblue,I remember Brady pulling his same magic in college like he does know. It’s amazing how similar hw is to Joe Montana.
Don’t laugh maizeblue,Hofstra has a terrific football program for their level. No it isn’t d-1,but it’s good. Some good pro’s have co,e out of Hofstra.
Only when they play each other. I went to OSU but transfered to a smaller college in Oklahoma. When the play each other, I cheer for the team that has the best chance of a National Championship. So far that has been OU. They have 7 National Championships.
My wife is a Texas Longorn fan so when the Red River Shootout comes around, all war in this house. Thank goodness for ESPN Game Plan and a DVR, I get all of the Big 12 games I want to see every week.
Michigan would have been awesome Bradys last two years except Coach Carr was trying to keep Drew Henson from turning into a Yankee and gave him too much playing time. We lost to both Syracuse and Mich State because he let Henson play the complete 2nd qtr in both games.
Hofstra plays Division I-AA and has made the playoffs a few times. Its most famous football alum is Wayne Chrebet, although Marques Colston could eventually take that torch.
Hey Dave,
I’ll be in York for a game if you want a break.
Tom
He Lives.
Jason, here is a loaded question and Dave had no answer. Why hasn’t the Barnstomers picked up a RHP to replace Evert while he is on the DL?
I apologize to Hofstra University. They are Div 1 AA and have an extremely competitve schedule in 2007.
Just got in from the game tonight.
Met Dave. Nice. He didn’t say how he liked the goodies but I hope he enjoyed them.
#22 was AWESOME tonight! He deserved player of the game.
Incidentally, this was his second start since “the incident”….he went last Sunday too. Tonight was much better!!!
He went 8 strong…..and Berger came in and finished the job. I got to see my two fav pitchers tonight, so I’m a happy girl!
Also met two Stormer fans who are not on the BLog. Debbie and Dan. Not sure if you guys know them (I think Stormin’ knows who they are) but they are interested in a Booster Club. I told them, AA that so were you. So maybe Stormin can introduce them to AA….and you guys can get something going down there.
She makes the beaded baseball bracelets and sells them. IN fact, I admired hers and offered to pay for one and have her mail it to me…she took the one off her wrist! Cool! I’m friendly with a few of the guys’ wives/girlfriends and they all loved my bracelet!
Nice evening for baseball. Sorry for you guys–and you guys still have a chance for Post Season, so I wish you the best, but not against Beech! Who do we need to beat for you guys, though?
My 2 fav AL teams are the Bluefish and whoever is playing Long Island. But I will also root for you guys when it’s not against my Bluefish.
You are all such nice people. (all the ones I met).
The Barnstormers haven’t addressed their weaknesses in a timely manner all season. So I didn’t expect them to add a pitcher to replace Evert.
I know Deb & Dan. She is a big Cylo fan, to the point, she owns his Tie-Dye Jersey. Good Barnstormer Fans. Was she wearing the Tie-Dye tonight? I think Dan has Keth Mitchell’s Red Alternate #26 from last year.
I think that decision hurt them given all the Double Headers that had coming up.
Sure, it hurt. Carrying an 11-pitcher staff into six games in four days is extremely difficult. In BASA’s defense, it’s not easy to find a pitcher on short notice. Of course, that doesn’t excuse the complete train wreck the baseball operations has been for this entire season.
How did we get off the college football talk????
hey chuckerd….Stephan Baker was at the Somerset/Barnstormer game the other night???? Was he any good??? Never heard of him before….!!
What up packmule. Baker was a decent wide reciever for the Giants in the mid 80’s. He wasn’t the fastest, but he always seemed to make big play’s. In fact, the Giant’s radio announcers called him Stephan Baker,The Touchdown Maker. Cheesy, but we loved it lol
It’s all BooserBabe’s fault. She wanted to talk baseball.
Back to football. I tansfered and gratuated from Cameron University in Lawton Oklahoma, the 1987 NAIA Football National Champions. My wife and I sat through a cold, sleeting game to watch them beat Carson-Newman for the Campionship. Now they don’t even have a team.
Their is nothing like being at a college football game, the atmosphere, especially on a sunny autumm saturday is awesome.
Thanks for that chuckerd….sorry i had nt remembered him.
Florida had Dallas Baker the last few years. And his name was also followed by the Touchdown Maker…. Definitely great name. Cheesy, but I liked it too.
Late Congrats on your Cameron Fighting Prairie Dogs and their 1987 National Championship.
I got to attend the 1976 Sugar Bowl where the Pitt Panthers beat the Georgia Bulldawgs for the National Championship. Nothing better than being in New Orleans (and being outnumbered 10 to 1 in fans) celebrating the biggest win of my college days.
And thanks again for Purdue upsetting then number one Michigan to give us a chance at the national ranking. (Sorry maize and blue)
They were the Cameron Aggies. Just for the record.
Jeez, I can ‘t win, can I????
Last night I caught hell for talking about brownies instead of baseball. Tonight I catch it for talking baseball instead of college football!!!!!
As for BASA….we have a talented bunch of guys. Some nights, we don’t really lose, we just don’t win. Losing 9-8…sometimes that’s just “the other team won”. And I think the BLuefish have the tools to get the job done…it’s sloppiness sometimes that costs them. If you could factor out all the unearned runs in games we lost, how many games would we have won? LOTS! Most of our losses came from unearned runs. I think they put together a good team in Bridgeport. But something is missing and I don’t know what it is. If you look at teh individual stats: we’ve got good guys. Mostly. A couple of them, good hitters but weak fielders. A couple of them good fielders, weak hitters. But they bring value to the team. I think the guys genuinely like each other and I’ve seen seasons where we’ve had 25 prima donnas, not a team of 25 players. This is a TEAM. (What was that they used to say about teh Red Sox prior to 2004? “25 guys, 25 cabs after the game?” That’s not the case here. they seem to gel. They cover each other. It’s just: something is not happening. They aren’t putting the tools together. They had a fantastic first half, up until the last week. Then it all fell apart and they never got it back. I understand the temptation to blame BASA but honestly, in Bpt’s case, I’m not sure you really can. I wish I knew what to blame it on. Maybe there’s stuff in the clubhouse we don’t know about. I dunno.
Cameron Aggies, Thanks for that info. Now I can give them the respect their deserve. I will be rooting for them when I see them in a scoreboard this fall.
I remember the 1985 Orange Bowl. OU 25 – PSU 10. It was famous for the Brian Bosworth suspention of steroids and he wore a shirt on the side lines that said NCAA – National Colleges Against Athletes or something like that.
Unfortunately Bosworth’s athletics on the pro football field was as good as that movie he was in.
sorry pack, suspension, not suspention.
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.
touche….stormin
Yes, Stone Cold. I think I have it on VHS somewhere around the house.
I remember when he was drafted by Seattle and wanted to wear #44 but the NFL said that it was a running back number and he ended up with #55. I use to have a Brian Bosworth Starter Action Figure and a “Land of Boz” poster.
I even had the 44 Blues Gargoyle Sunglasses. Oh to be young again.
Also, remember the game when he was all talk and Bo Jackson dragged him into the endzone as he was “trying” to tackle him. That’s when it went south for him.
Hey, Bud, let’s party!
What Jefferson was saying was, Hey! You know, we left this England place ’cause it was bogus; so if we don’t get some cool rules ourselves – pronto – we’ll just be bogus too! Get it?
Revise these famous quotes from a movie that should have won an Oscar for next season ……
What a 2008 Championship Party!
What Barnstormer fans were saying was, Hey! You know, we needed to leave BASA ’cause it was bogus; so if we don’t get some cool rules ourselves – pronto – we’ll just be bogus too! Get it?
We had Tony Dorsett at Pitt. At pitt it was pronounced dor’ sit. When he got to the pros, he said it was door set’. He said it sounded more French. HE WASNT FRENCH.
I WISH i was so full of my self as they were.
Boz didnt have a good professional experience.
Or as Spicoli would say, “Hey, dude. There is no party in here.”
As Mr. Hand teaches him a lesson
The 1982 Oscar for Best Actor goes to ……
Jeff Spicolli
Sorry – Needed some comedy tonight after the Stormers lost and my Phils got there butts kicked. If you didn’t see it Milton Bradley took a bow in fron of the Phils dugout after his 2nd HR, and none of the pitchers dusted him! Oh well that’s why Post #149 was correct for me. I am a life long Phillies fan.
jeff Spicoli aka Sean Penn sure has come along way since fast Times at Ridgemont High
This is my favorite ….
Jefferson’s Brother: My brother’s gonna kill us! He’s gonna kill us! He’s gonna kill you and he’s gonna kill me, he’s gonna kill us!
Jeff Spicoli: Hey man, just be glad I had fast reflexes!
Jefferson’s Brother: My brother’s gonna s**t!
Jeff Spicoli: Make up your mind, dude, is he gonna s**t or is he gonna kill us?
Jefferson’s Brother: First he’s gonna s**t, then he’s gonna kill us!
Jeff Spicoli: Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
Mr. B sure wasnt around long tonight. You dont think he is getting a life, do you???
I did love the way they FIXED the situation.
My favorite part of the movie was Judge Reinhold practicing his break up speech for his girlfriend. Then after he changes his mind, she uses the exact speech on him. BUsted!!!!
But my favorite movie of all time, that happen to come out my second year of college and after i had been threw the frat rush party scene was…..”Animal House.”"
“Knowledge is good.”……..Emil Faber
“Grab a brew, dont cost nothin”…………Blutarsky
“You know, son. Fat drunk and stupid is no way to go thru life”…..Dean Wormer
“She will take this seriously.”…………Otter
“They cant do that to our pledges. Only we can do that to our pledges.”………………..Boon
“We are not going to sit here while you talk down the United States of America.”…………….Otter
Ah yes …. Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Animal House, Caddyshack. They just don’t make classics like those anymore.
Pack – By the way I see you are a Pitt alum. I went to Temple and we were trained the same way. After Temple our favorite team was whoever played PSU! I did sit through the rain while in school while Pitt killed us 76-0. Why didn’t I leave early??
“People on ‘ludes should not drive.”
I once witnessed a Cincinnati victory at PSU in 1982. The PSU fans were livid. A great treat for me at the time.
Got to hit the sack–work again tomorrow. Good blogging with you–have a good night
Michigan for me in college!!!!!
FYI… Patterson’s ERA .91 , yes that’s point 91
I believe it is the lowest in the entire minor league system???
that is awesome with patterson!!! i hope he keeps up the great job
he’s a yankee and not on steroids. that is his problem,. the braves would take him in a heartbeat. the only way he is moving up is to be traded to a more classy team.
