DePriest named All-Star
September 21, 2007 by Jason Guarente
Derrick
DePriest was the only member of the Barnstormers to make the postseason All-Star team. Rather than snubbing a big name, the Atlantic League also honored Danny Graves. So they’re co-relievers of the year.
Jeff Scott of the Road Warriors won manager of the year. Brian Adams of Somerset is pitcher of the year. Victor Rodriguez and Jesse Hoorelbeke shared player of the year honors.
Here’s the complete list …
Catcher: Randy McGarvey, Camden
First base: Jesse Hoorelbeke, Bridgeport
Second base: Javier Colina, Newark
Shortstop: Ramon Castro, Newark
Third base: Jay Caligiuri, Bridgeport
Outfield: Carl Everett, Long Island
Outfield: Mike Lockwood, Somerset
Outfield: Steven Doetsch, Road Warriors
Outfield: Ray Navarrete, Long Island
Utility: Pete Rose Jr., Long Island
Utility: Nate Espy, York
Designated hitter: Victor Rodriguez, Newark
RH pitcher: Gary Knotts, Newark
LH pitcher: Brian Adams, Somerset
Closer: Danny Graves, Long Island
Closer: Derrick DePriest, Lancaster
The Barnstormers’ Danny Gonzalez was passed over and it’s a shame, but I don’t take any postseason All-Star team with 12 position players and four first basemen too seriously.

Well deserved honor for Derrick…. congrats #31! With the year he had he should have won it outright…that era was incredible!
way to go jeff scott. well deserved.
Way to go Derrick!!!!
oh yea, and to mr. era, derrick depriest also. don’t want to start digging another hole. congrats from the stormin’ household.
Just bake him some whole wheat, fruitie granola bars and your out of the hole
Congrats Big D and little cattyj…
she helped too!!!!!
Congrats to Derrick DePriest. He deserved to be on the all-star team.
MY first thought was….is this a softball team…4 outfielders????
Then I remember that they added the two utility positions in this year’s changes, too.
How about a defensive player of the year?? I would understand that better than 3 extra fielder spots.
congrats Derrick you deserved it.. all those cookies and brownies paid off…
syd you gonna be at the game on Tuesday… some how Cylo ended up at my house for the weekend…..
Hope Cylo got a bath…
What time is the game Tuesday? And is it at the Clipp… the front office should put some info out there for us !
Stormin it looks like our campaigning might have paid off? haha. Steve Doetsch also had a terrific year. Tied a RW record with 22 home runs! Vito should be on the list but the talent at 1B is just unbelievable between Rodriguez, Rose, Hoorelbeke, Espy, etc.
i am suprised cattyj or ks have commented on depriest making the list.
I miss them
True rwfan…the most highly talented position in this league is first base. Even on the roadwarriors….they have both Bladergroen and Vito…both of those guys are preety good.haha.
Hi cj… That was my worst subject in nursing school.
I bought whole wheat bread yesterday and told Dwight that we will be eating healthier from now on. So if you have any pointers… send them my way.
Big D watching the FL/ NC game???
Yes Amy. Last season a Road Warrior actually won that position, Mike Huggins. Amazing season.
the game is at clip at 7pm… and no cylo did not get a bath… I have to freebze it..
Cylo really needs a bath. I think it would bring his fur back to life… ya know, it’s fair season and the cows are getting all prettied up !!!
Sydney- he watched the UNC game…. I don’t think he was too happy. During class I was watching the game tracker thing on ESPN for the Syracuse vs. Louisville game. I’m so happy Syracuse finally won a game…. I’m sorry Duke lost at the last bit.
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Anyone going to listen to game 3 tonight??? Brian Adams did well last night!!
Hi cattyj… I was visiting the neighbors tonight which involves lots of beer
I’m looking forward to the booster club meeting Wednesday night.
Poor D… I don’t think USF even had a football program when I lived down there.
I was thrilled that Cuse beat Louisville… it’s about time they won!!!! And hey, how about those EAGLES? It took me 10 minutes to figure out the vintage uniform thing, yellow and light blue? Wasn’t till I actually saw McNabb’s face that realized I had the correct game on TV.
The house seems so quiet with the boys of summer gone
this first week has been boring and hard… I look forward to seeing every body tommorow night at the football game and again on Wednesday…
Has tomorrow night been declared a “code Red? “
