In case you missed it on the 37 television news reports or the stories in both newspapers, Von Hayes was formally introduced as the Barnstormers’ manager Monday.
Here are some highlights from the press conference …
*If the team is successful, it doesn’t sound like Hayes will be a one-year solution as Lancaster’s manager. Both he and the team have expressed interest in a longer partnership.
“I’m not going to stand here and tell you I’m going to use this is a one-year platform or anything like that to vault out of here,” Hayes said. “This is an attractive situation. This isn’t about me trying to elevate myself as a manager.”
On the day Hayes was hired, team president Jon Danos said he considered offering Hayes a multi-year deal, which is rare in minor-league baseball. Danos said that could still happen down the line.
*It was interesting to see such a hero’s welcome for Hayes considering his sometimes prickly relationship with Phillies fans during his playing days. All of that appears to be ancient history.
“I have nothing but fond memories about my time in Philadelphia,” he said.
“When I got to Philadelphia for any events, talk to the people, it’s always a good experience. It was always a good experience when I played — outside the stadium. But in the stadium, when you’re playing, no matter who you are they’re going to let you hear about it during the tough times. But they let me hear about it during the good times too.”
*One of the primary objectives as a manager in indy ball is to keep the players motivated and focused. When they lose those traits, you end up with seasons like the 2007 Barnstormers endured. Hayes talked about recreating the passion for the game in his players.
“I think you have to lead by example,” he said. “I try to stay in touch with my players. I try to communicate with them on a daily basis. Just like any other teacher, you try to keep their minds inspired, whether it be a different twist on something they do or just pointing out what a great game this is.”
*Hayes poked fun at the 5-for-1 trade shadow that still seems to follow him wherever he goes. He joked that being hired as Lancaster’s manager was a 7-for-1 deal because he had to top a list of seven top-notch candidates.
*Now that the manager search is over, the next step is putting together a protected list for Southern Maryland’s expansion draft, which will be held in mid-December — possibly Dec. 16. Last year the Barnstormers lost Travis Hake to York in the expansion draft.
Some other tidbits from Monday …
*Barnstormers assistant GM Shawn Gelnett has left the team to become general manager of the Palm Beach Cardinals. Joe Pinto, you may recall, is the GM of the Palm Beach sports complex that houses that Cardinals team.
*One candidate for the vacant hitting coach position is Sam Snider. He was a bullpen catcher for the Baltimore Orioles for 21 years before being let go in October. Snider was in attendance at Hayes’ press conference.

(off subject) With The Crabs getting all the attention this year, I’m predicting York gets hung out to dry next year. Lancaster has proven it’s fans will stay and I think they were rewarded a seemingly good skipper. It will be interesting to see what happens in York. The second year will show if they created a supportive fan base or not. I already have plans once the Revs go under to turn the stadium into a giant paintball arena!!
I’ll predict the Revolution makes the playoffs.
Any word on the division changes? Is the Blue Crabs going to the North or is Somerset going to the North and the Blue Crabs coming to the South? I did not see anything on the Atlantic League page. Thanks.
BTW, we still retain the Community Cup and Sweep York in the playoffs. That’s my prediction. Go STORMERS.
Always got to play devils advocate don’t ya Jason
Actually, if my prediction of a large loss of fan base (revenue) in York is true, then the powers that be will probably make sure they’re up there in the rankings. Kind of like Camden. AND I guess they did have Lancaster win it’s second year (yes I said “have Lancaster win”). So it’s potentially in the ODP formula. Well at least to their best of ability.
Anyone ever hear anything about the potential team in Leominster MA?
Gladstone’s record is pretty good at running teams individually. Three years. Three playoff trips. Two championships. Plus, York will have its stadium complete and Hoiles will be in his second season as manager. The Revs have a lot in their favor — kind of like the 2006 Barnstormers.
I haven’t heard anything about the divisions yet. My presumption is that Somerset goes to the North, but no one has told me that specifically.
Wow, How much did it take for Gladestone to buy you out Jason? I guess we’ll know when we see you as the new assistant GM next year. What am I supposed to tell my kids now? Try explaining this to a 4 year old.
All I got was a Road Warriors T-shirt and a Cylo bobblehead that doesn’t bobble. Think I should have held out for more?
hahaha, I’m not surprised about the bobblehead! Makes sense that even the Barnstormer bobbleheads are just a facade.
Geez, when did I get so cynical? I guess last season still bears some scars. Not so much here, but right hear (pointing to my heart)
Jason
I’ll bake you some brownies… Danos want some too… Hope Von enjoyed his.
Jason – I saw Von Hayes The Band posted the other day. Being the man with the power of the pen, it would be interesting to find out how they came up with their name and if the real Von Hayes knows they exist.
On a side note, how about the MVP predicting 100 wins for the Phils next year! The man has confidence even if he can’t play centerfied and pitch every 5th day.
Von Hayes (the band) has a “myspace” page… I thought it was him… how do they get away with using his name??? And .. does he know it?
Sydney – That’s what I was thinking when I made the original posts. See “Hayes Named Manager” #24 and #25 and “Remember Von Hayes” #17 and #18.
I wonder how many homeruns Von could hit at the Clip? That short right field might make him think of being the DH!
Jason – Looks like you have investigating reporting to do!
Also remind Von not to do any Gochenauer commercials at the Clip if they ask him. It’s worse then the Sports Illustrated jinx!
Barney,
I’ve exchanged emails with one of the band members and am looking forward to doing a story about them in the spring. I haven’t asked Von about it yet, but I will. It makes for a great off-beat article.
We asked Von about the short porch. He smiled and said it was “enticing.” He also compared it to Camden Yards. Of course, he hasn’t seen the ball fly out of there in the summer yet. I’m not sure how many homers he could hit at the Clip now, but I bet he could post a .400 on-base percentage in this league.
Syd,
I’m not big on sweets, but brownies are my one weakness.
Mr. B,
You have become cynical. I think you need to say, “Let’s go Woods!” a few times in order to get that Barnstormers mojo back.
Is my main man Woods coming back? I haven’t been up on who’s staying or not. Or is it too early to say?
Any word on entertainment next year? My wing source told me that Val is going off to nursing school. I wonder if I’M Fun would ever come back? I wonder what Dave Collins is doing right now? I wonder if Cylos costume is all bunched up in a small closet with Moths burrowed into it’s now aged fur?
OK Jason… you got it. I got a note from “the Band” and they mentioned a writer from the local paper would be doing a interview… glad it’s you… even if you can’t pick a high school football WINNER !!!!!!!
LOL See you in Hershey Friday night… remember… look for the pompoms
It’s too early to say which players are coming back. Woods should definitely be on the protected list for the expansion draft. He said he wanted to return if he didn’t get an affiliated offer.
I think Von is an excellent choice for a manager, and I am excited to meet him. Unfortunately, work got in the way during lunch time the other day. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon…only a few more months!
It would be awesome if the Von Hayes Band became the Clips house band. Or at least played there a few times this year. Myabe they’ll let my band ‘Mr. B and the Glen Murry’s’ open up for them?
Hi Dawes… how is school going. Winding down I hope
One of the Met’s radio positions became available when Tom Mc Carthy left to join the Phillies broadcast crew. Maybe Dave Collins should send in a Tape.
Jason, post #6. You are supposed to take the packing away from around his neck. It works much better that way.
Hey Jason… only you and 1 other sports writer picked LS to loose… now I’m nervous.
I kinda like it when you all pick us to loose… gets the boys fired UP.
The game looks like a toss-up to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if L-S won.
No, No… must must say we’re going to loose… reverse Karma !!!
Jason,
Hayes seems too squeaky clean. What kind of dirt can you pull up on him? Any DUI’s, spousal abuse, marijuana smuggling, J-Walking citations, gay porn……
Since we are talking football. Go Dallas and go Oklahoma.
Go Pats! Best NFL team ever! Go BC!
Pats suck !!!! Sorry for the language but Brady dumped the pregnant girl for a not pregnant girl… LOSER !!!!
The ‘85 Bears would eat the Patriots for lunch.
I’m sure Brady will be a good dad. Well as much as any traveling athlete can be. He won’t be no Von Hayes but he does come from an awesome family that has a tight bond. Seriously, just imagine if he was the quarter back. How awesome would that be. McNabb is a joke. They should of listed him last week on the injury list as SCARED.
Dude, if the Pats go undefeated this year, I don’t think no one can argue that they are the best ever. Until then I guess I’ll just have to argue the point. As for the ‘85 Bears, I think the Pats offense is too good and the Bears offense wouldn’t be able to keep up. The Bears defense probably is slightly better.
Saying the 85 Bears defense is slightly better is like saying breathing is slightly better than not breathing. They’d slow down this Pats offense by knocking around Moss, who folds whenever things get rough. The Bears would win going away.
Going undefeated doesn’t prove anything. The league is watered down this year. The Cowboys and Packers are 10-1. That says it all.
How could the ‘85 Bears win? Wouldn’t all the players be in their 40’s??? Jim Mcmahon is closer to 50! It’s a down year but remember there is only one team …..
E-A-G-L-E-S ….. EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!
What is the logical hometown paper for the BlueCrabs? Are they going to have 4,000+ fans per game?
Welcome Back Dawes! We missed you!

How can you say going udefeated doesn’t prove anything? In an discussion that is imposible to prove, the only things that could help support a theory is actual numbers. If the pats go undefeated, win the superbowl, Brady breaks the TD record, Moss breaks Rice’s single season records and the defense is ranked in the top 5, in my mind it would be tough to argue they were not the best team ever! (I will never get tired of putting the Pats even near that title!… Go Celtics!)
Plus, the Pats are pretty much killing teams this year. The Eagles had the perfect defensive scenario against their offense and I bet you won’t see another game that close in score this year.
Also–As for waterlogged year, the 85′ Bears played the Pats in the superbowl. The Pats were horrible back then compared to the 2007 team. But they still made it to the superbowl. Besides my Dad yelling at Grogan as I watched a team clad in red jerseys fail my dads expectations, I barely remember that year (I was
but I would assume that there weren’t to many great teams that year if the Pats even got that far.
Wheres Maize and Blue when you need him. He can probably settle this skull session.
I will give the ‘85 bears props for the great superbowl shuffle rap video they did. That song changed my life.
I was at a meeting of Alcoholics Unanimous at a local watering hole, and a guy in a Pats jersey (#30 Mosi Tatupu) stood up and introduced himself as “Bob”.
Coincidence?
Going undefeated doesn’t prove anything because records are relative to competition. The Cowboys are 11-1 for the first time in franchise history, but no one in their right mind would say this is the best Cowboys team of all-time. The 72 Dolphins went unbeaten and no one thinks they’re the greatest, either.
I give the Patriots credit. They built the perfect team for this era, where no one can play pass defense because the rules are set up against it and because of free agency. So they put up Tecmo Bowl stats and win a lot of blowouts. But to be the best team ever you should be able to run the ball and play excellent defense. The Pats do neither of those things. They just got lit up by freakin’ A.J. Feeley.
Oh wow. Now it is the Jason & Mr. B going at each other. Got to love it. I hope that Dallas meets the Pats (minus the video camera) in the Super Bowl and beats the crap out of them.
Actually Bob owns a throwback #56 Andre Tippett home Jersey…. at least that’s what I’m told.
Like baseball, I think football has evolved into better conditioned players hence better athletes. Plus more refined playbooks, smarter coaches (well at least in Belichicks case) and stiffer competition to get into the league. Rarely these days do you see an ex-plumber getting into the NFL as a blocker just because he is a big dude, kind of fast, and even faster on the fine quality cocaine his uncle hooks him and the rest of his team up with.
The Pats have a run game. They just don’t need to use it. Brady and his weapons are too good. And there is no way you can say there has ever been a better looking quarterback.
I was waiting for the video camera comment!
The Patriots don’t need a running game because there is no pass defense any more. That’s why Derek Anderson has stats like Dan Fouts. This is what the NFL wants — a fantasy football product — so WRs can manhandle corners to catch passes and corners can’t get within two yards of WRs without getting flagged.
Dallas had 309 passing yards last night AND there were two 40-yard pass interference calls. Why not just put the ball on the 10-yard line and play high school overtime rules?
The Patriots are built for the era. They were smart about it when they traded for Moss and Welker and signed Stallworth. It doesn’t make them the best team of all-time, though. It makes them the best team this season.
I hear ya, but what about the athleticism of the players? Wouldn’t you say in this day in age the players are better bred for the game? Personally I don’t know but I am guessing with all the personal trainers (Brady had one since he was 12), regulated diets, extended off seasons, we are now looking at a more polished player era. Plus, there are teams, like the now Colts, that they rely on a run game and it’s working just as good as receivers.
Just tell me that Brady is better than Manning and I’ll be happy!
Stormin,
Dallas and Pats would be an awesome game. It could be the fight for the title “Americas Team”.
I guess we’ll know once the next Madden game comes out next year. They usually have the 85′ Bears as an old school team. So maybe we will just have to settle it by watching a simulated game of the ‘85 Bears vs the ‘07 Pats.
Sure, the athletes are better. But shouldn’t that mean the defensive players are better, too? When scrubs are coming off the bench after not playing for three years and completing 75 percent of their passes — hello, Aaron Rodgers — the stats just don’t mean as much.
The Cowboys can’t beat the Patriots. They each have the same strengths, except New England is a little better at everything.
I hope the Red Sox get Santana!
YESSSS!
Seriously Jason, It’s never too late to become a Sox Fan. The Cardinals will only let you down again and again. Join us Jason! Join the nation and help us destroy anyone who gets in our path! I hope the Yankees have 10 years of misery ahead of them.
Sorry, my A.D.D kicked in!
You know what I hate. As soon as a reciever misses the ball, he starts throwing his hands up “requesting” a flag. Stop being such a baby.
Comment #50. We have better looking cheerleaders!
Red Sox fan? No thanks. I like having a soul.
Comment #55: you have chosen unwisely. Only God can help you now. muuahahahaha
Comment #54: Stormin I can’t believe your wandering eyes! I looked at you as my moral compass!
Way to go LS!!!!!!
Congratulations to the Pioneers
Ok Jason.. you know the drill… L-S is supposed to lose next week.. right ??
Wink Wink.
I am so proud of the Pioneer football team !!!
That was a dominant performance by L-S. Very impressive. I promised the coaches I would pick the opponent next week and I don’t even know who it is, yet.
is that Lance and Ortiz on the banner atop the BlueCrabs home page?
http://www.somdprobaseball.com
or maybe Danny
Burkhart and Ortiz. With Ortiz batting left-handed.
They used Barnstormer pics to start up York’s team and they used Camden pics to start op Lancaster. I guess having the same owner has privleges.
But, their stadium looks like it is really coming along. I can’t wait to see a game there. Probably the one on May 2.
Go Oklahoma, Beat Missouri.
Mr B. BC let me down.
Well, the BCS is a complete disaster again. That’s all I root for each college football season.
Couldn’t agree more. GO HAWAII!
Now I have to put up w/Kirt (I’d rather make up the news, than report the news) Herbstreit tell us why OSU belongs in the the championship game. OH PUKE! Common Kirt. I think you took to many hits in the head playing for John Cooper. BTW, you WERE 0-3-1 in the Big Game. The Big 10 sucked this year. Let Oklahoma and LSU get it on.
I hear ya Stormin. Oh well, I guess Boston can’t win everything this year
Pats are picked to win by 20 tomorrow. Saaweeeet!
M&B–Good to see ya again!
Ohio State worked the system. The Buckeyes played a terrible non-conference schedule and tip-toed through a mediocre Big Ten. But they get to play for it all. Good for them, I guess.
And I guess we can cancel production on A.J. Feeley’s Hall of Fame bust.
if being a Red Sox fan costs you your soul – what’s the cost for the Yankees?
What happened to Feeley? I almost wanted McNabb back in the game… desperate, I guess.
Scottie,
what if your a “temporary” Yankee fan. As long as one of ours in in their organization… we all should be temporary fans.
Oklahoma jumps from 9th to 4th in the BCS. Missouri gets black balled and Kansas slides into a BCS Bowl game.
We need a playoff system. It works for the lower NCAA divisions. Is the BCS related to BASA?
Evil step brothers !!!
Yankees, Red Sox … same thing. One is just a more absurd version of the other.
The one thing I will never understand is why college presidents can’t realize that a playoff system will make them millions more in revenue. These are the greediest people you’ll meet, so you’d think they’d be able to figure it out.
Feeley has always thrown a ton of interceptions. He’s a risk taker and he has backup-level talent. That’s not a good combination. McNabb is so underappreciated in this region, it’s ridiculous.
Ever since Eagles fans booed the crap out of McNabb on draft day I have always have felt bad for him. To play in Philly would be the worst because the fans are always miserable. I will say that I don’t think McNabb is a born leader (like Brady
) which is a big plus for a quarterback in the NFL. The fact that he always has to say that he is the leader of the team throws up red flags. Any leader doesn’t always have to try and persuade people that they are leaders. Dude was puking at the Superbowl because of nerves then blamed TO for ruining the team. When that excuse failed after TO left his new excuse was that people were racist.
Agree totally, that at least 65 of the college presidents are the greediest people alive. First, that’s why they added the 12th game, to make it more difficult to squeeze in a playoff. Second, these 65 schools control the BCS. They throw a small bone only to Norte Dame if they finish 8th or higher and to one school from the smaller conferences if they finish 12th or higher. Otherwise these 65 schools control the whole pot. Unless a playoff system increases the pot substantially, why would they open it up and risk losing it, when presently they have it all.
The solution seems simple to me. Keep the bowl system and have all the major bowls on Jan. 1. Then hold a four-team playoff after the bowls. This means the greedy presidents get their bowl cash AND the conferences can divide up the revenue from the extra two games — which will be in the tens of millions (not including TV).
I’m guessing that a playoff system won’t necessarily add a ton of incremental money to the pot, since these schools might have to drop the 12th game, which in most cases is a home game. A home game for Michigan and Penn State is far greater than the payout from most of these Bowl games. I’m also guessing the networks would reduce their payouts for the 4 major bowls and the incremental revenue for the extra playoff games isn’t enough to risk having both, for example, Boise State and Notre Dame, run the table and take the money from the six major conferences.
Just keep the 12th game. We have high school kids playing 15 and 16 games so the schools can rake in some more money. We have extended playoffs in all other levels of college football. There’s no reason why they have to eliminate a game at the D-I level.
Also, if you have a four-team, post-bowl playoff, the bowls actually become interesting because they mean something. Ratings will increase. Ads will cost more. TV networks will pay at least as much, if not more. As it stands, why would I watch Virginia Tech vs. Kansas? Answer: I won’t unless I’m affiliated with the schools or have money riding on the outcome.
D2 and D3 schools are only playing 10 game schedules and they don’t travel half way across the country to play their non-conference and confence games. So they
are on or around campus most of the time.
If you keep the 12th game, then most of the schools that would be in this playoff pool would have 13 games because of the conference championships. I think adding 3 more games is too much. The players are supposed to be students not mercenaries.
And no, I wouldn’t be more inclined to watch VT vs Kansas because it is a playoff game anymore than I watch very much of the 1st two rounds of the NCAA BB tournament. It still meaningless to me.
the arguement against adding 1-3 games in football that says the students are there to learn, not to play – hold no weight with me.
Basketball plays 30 games before heading into the tourney. College baseball is over 40. They travel and miss class as well.
Why should that arguement hold weight only for football players and not be spread around for the rest of the sports?
The players have been mercenaries since this became a big-money sport. The conference title games exist solely to line the pockets of the schools. They have no other purpose. The presidents weren’t worried about the players’ well-being when those games were added.
A four-team national championship playoff would occur in January, when most schools aren’t in session. The whole thing is silly. You add a 12th regular season game. You add a conference championship game. But you play a season without a satisfactory conclusion because having a playoff is too many games?
Length of the seasons are similar. College basketball has 2-3 games a week. College baseball plays a lot of DH’s.
Football is one game a week, plus a lot more preparation.
If I was NFL draft pick going in one of the 1st three rounds I’d tell my college president and my coach to stuff it, if he wanted me to come back after the fall semester to play one for the alma mater.
Jason, are you going to start a post on who maybe the 15 players that the Barnstormers want to protect for the expansion draft?
Mr B, I think West Virginia was picked by that same amount and look what happened to them. They met up with a Pitt Panther. I guess Oklahoma gets the leftovers in the Fiesta Bowl.
Stormin’, West Virginia met up with the Pat Bostick that is finally getting warmed up to College play! He is a great kid and he finally looked comfortable playing with the big boys. Go Township Alumni!
ncaa football practices 20 hours a week
others may have known that, but i was suprisedit was that little amount of time.
I have no stats to back it up, but I’d bet that the basketball teams put in just as much time, given that they play 2-3 games per week.
Close one last night. At least I still have another week of gloating! YESSS!
Yeah, that game sums up what I was talking about with offensive inflation. I think the Ravens were flagged for defensive holding/pass interference about 83 times.
The Pats would of done so much better if guys weren’t dropping perfect passes last night. Brady was money, but I think the guys hands were cold from the wind… or something like that. I must of had 10 text messages last night from friends saying “sorry maybe next year” WHATEVA SUCKAS! GO PATS!
Oh and Ditka did say before the game that the Patriots this year would be too much for his ‘85 Bears.
Yeah, Ditka can say what he wants. When we discuss the Patriots as the best offense of all-time, let’s remember the 11 points they were given by ridiculous calls in the secondary last night.
Did you watch the game last night? … his offensive pass protection is unbelievable. Brady had like 10 minutes a play to pass the ball any where he wanted. He could just stand and wait for someone to get open… Makes me not like him more.
Hope L-S protects Graeff like that Friday
I agree Sydney, the Pats have the complete package. Brady was also pretty nasty moving around the pocket when he needed too.
J–I’m sure the Bears also had their share of calls and fluke plays in ‘85 that was in their favor. The Pats are a very smart team and even though it sometimes just looks like things are luckily going their way, it’s really because they are a perceptively smart team that can work any angle of the game. That’s why Belichick has the players he has. The guy is a football brainiac. The Pats know how to make things go there way. Look at how many dumb penalties the Ravens had last night. That is part of the game. If a team is undisciplined in certain areas, they will have to join the looser throng with the rest of this years Pats victims.
They’re not fluke calls. They’re rules changes instituted by the NFL to inflate offense. There were four calls on the defensive secondary on third down that prolonged drives that would have otherwise ended. If that’s what the league wants, we have to live with it. But it changes the way you look at offenses in this day and age.
Oh, and the fourth down holding call on the Ravens was an absolute crime. You might as well just put the ball in the end zone for the Patriots and set off some fireworks.
Yeah so the fourth down holding call was a fluke call!
Jason, seriously, you can’t fight destiny.
I agree, it seems like things have gotten easier for offenses. But could it be just tighter officiating now with all the replays and mass public scrutiny on a grander scale? And if so, could it go both ways? I know that Moss has been called for offensive pass interference more than a handful of times and most of the times it seemed like he barely brushed the defensive coverage.
We’ll see about destiny. The Colts were 13-0 and blowing people out of the water and they flamed out in the playoffs. That was, what, three years ago? The Patriots have been pushed to the limit by two teams that are a combined 9-15. There are no sure things.
You’re right. I just know that this won’t last for ever, so I might as well talk as much $hit as I can for now.
Steve Young last night after the game did say that every team that goes and wins superbowls usually will have a couple games in a row where they get beat. Then they use those losses as a catapult to the superbowl. He then said he thinks the Patriots just had their two losses and will use the last two tuff games as something to redeem from. He predicted they will spring back and go onto an undefeated season. I can’t say I disagree with his prediction. The next three games are at home. They play, Steelers, Jets, Miami and then the Giants away. The only thing I’m scared of is Willie Parker.
Oh my gosh I got the 100th comment. Its a sign! The Celtics are gonna be champs!
There were two pass interference calls on Oklahoma where the defender “barely” laid his hand on the back of the guys jersey. He did not even push him and got called. The announcers said that everytime an official sees an arm on the back, it is going to get a flag. That is crap. I agree with you Jason. Let the defenders defend.
Pass interference is an outlawed subject in my house. My wife is tired of hearing me complain about it.
How does cmplaining about BASA rate to Pass Interference.
I can’t say I never slept on the couch due to sports related altercations on the home front. Lets see, just last night I woke up the baby because I was yelling at the TV and caught hell from the wifsky. She can’t get into football. Baseball she can deal with. Luckily I have this guys therapy site to chat about this. Doesn’t help that I’m a bad listener and sometimes forget to say she looks pretty. Geez, doesn’t she know that we’re all good?
Not very high. I didn’t have the time to explain BASA to someone who doesn’t care about baseball. It’s quite a tedious process.
The other taboo subject is a salary cap in baseball. That might rank No. 1.
Check this, My wife actually asked me about a year ago which of her friends do I think is the prettiest. I’ve always thought of that question more of a folklore only to be confronted face to face with this now real life interrogation. Luckily I can get away with not being serious and quickly turned it into a joke. Little does she know that I think her friend Ashley is smokin!
jason, any thoughts to comment #86 also.
At least you have Bosco to complain to. How is the “Old Bird” anyway?
My wife’s name is Ashley. And she’s smokin.
Re: expansion draft …
I believe the Barnstormers are allowed to protect 13 players. That’s how it worked for the previous two drafts since they entered the league. I’ll put something together on that toward the end of next week.
allowed to protect 13 – but isn’t that kind of a moot issue if the majority of the team is believed to not be back?
Protecting players shouldn’t be an issue for the Barnstormers. In general, the expansion draft has been a non-event. Most of the players taken don’t even end up signing with the new team.
