Scott Patterson made his spring-training debut for the Yankees against the Phillies today.
The righthander, wearing No. 70, pitched one-third of an inning. Coincidentally, he faced Phillies catcher Chris Coste. It was an interesting matchup because Coste — like Patterson — toiled in independent ball for years before finally getting his shot.
