Ambro back with Ducks
April 24, 2008 by Jason Guarente
If the Atlantic League transactions page is accurate, Dominick Ambrosini has signed with the Ducks. That didn’t take long.
Ambrosini played for Long Island in 2005 and 2006. He batted .300 with 21 homers and 103 RBIs in 172 games there. His time with the Ducks ended when he was traded to the Bluefish prior to the start of last season. The Long Island native declined to play for Bridgeport and signed with the Barnstormers in May.
Ambro will make his first trip to Lancaster on May 26. His swing is tailor-made for Clipper Magazine Stadium. He hit .354 with 13 homers in 195 at-bats here last season and was the team’s co-MVP along with P Derrick DePriest.

Not surprised to see Ambro. back on the Island. Do you know if it was his decision not to sign with the Ducks last season?
The Ducks offered him a contract. He didn’t sign it immediately because of personal reasons, so they traded him to Bridgeport.
That’s based on this interview.
Thanks Jason.
Jason,
Not sure if you are awake still, but I am ready to give the site the green light.

If you could let me know (email, here, or comment) what you think of the ideas I outline in the first post.

Great, I hope he will still autograph his photo card in the Barnstormer Special Addition for us.
I hate to be persnickety, Stormin’, but I think I see what could be your second error of the year (depending on the official scoring).
Unless the humor is too subtle for me, I think you meant “Edition”
Those darn pseudo-homonyms!
Hi Dawes,
I linked it as part of the blogroll (on the right of this page) and will mention it in the game threads. Looks like you have some good ideas, particularly the autographs page. That’ll be a big hit.
I see you have four comments. It took me a month to get that many.
Your right. Addition - Edition, close enough I guess. The official scorer gave me half an error.
what about “you’re” instead of “your”?
lol
Ok, I’ll stop now, I promise.
See you at the game Saturday…I’ll be the dad on the lawn w/ the 4 kids running around.
You’re too funny dj.
I am a tech guy, not an English major so I have a little disability in that area. Plus, I also live in York.
If you hang out with scottie he can teach you how to seat jump and ball grab. I hear he is a “Pro” at it.
All games are on 1490.
Barnstormers are facing a lefty tonight, so it’ll be interesting to see the lineup. I’m thinking we’ll see Gonzalez at 2B, Nelson at SS and Woods in LF.
Jarred Ball, by the way, is with the team. He took batting practice at the Clip on Thursday. So he could play LF as well.
Speaking of ball grabbing:
I was in lawn seating a couple seasons ago and one of the visiting pitchers threw a foul ball into the crowd.
Since I was so much taller than everyone else around me it was pretty easy to reach up and snatch that ball right outta the air! That surrounding group of 11 year olds never had a chance!
I did feel rather bad after I realized what I had done, so I handed the ball as quickly as possible to my then 8 year old son.
Then we left. I could see that group of troublemakers turning ugly pretty quickly.
yeah, sometimes it can be like the Lord Of The Flies out there. I once saw a group of kids brutality attack an 80 year old man who caught a fowl ball.
fowl ball…
your on a role
