It’s the first doubleheader of the season for the Barnstormers and it won’t be the last. The Atlantic League’s condensed scheduled, combined with the inevitability of rain, means this league is prone to too many Ernie Banks afternoons and evenings. Last season they played a whopping nine doubleheaders. They hope the number is more manageable this time around.
Despite all that has gone wrong for the Barnstormers so far, they’ve stayed close in the standings. The mediocrity of the Freedom Division has certainly helped. If Lancaster can at least salvage a split today, it will be within two games in the loss column. Considering the road-heavy schedule, the bullpen mess and the absence of Matt LeCroy, the Barnstormers are fortunate to be in such good shape.
When they return home later this week, with series against Somerset and York looming, they should have their full contingent of relievers, including closer Sendy Rleal. It’ll be our first chance to get an accurate assessment of the team the way Von Hayes and Keith Lupton intended it to be constructed.
From the “it could always be worse” department:
Because of a series of defections, injuries and illness, the Bluefish were forced to activate former Barnstormers hitting coach Glenn Murray for the doubleheader against Camden Saturday. Murray played CF, pitcher Chris Eickhorst played LF and pitcher Eric DuBose played 1B during the two games. Remarkably, Murray went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

RECORD: 5-11
PLAYER OF GAME 1: Randall Simon (2-for-3, including game-winning single in the seventh inning)
PLAYERS OF GAME 2: Scott Knazek and Val Majewski (each had three RBIs)
The pitchers:
*The Barnstormers’ starters struggled.
Mike Nannini in Game 1 …
| 3.2 IP | 3 H | 2 R | 2 ER | 4 BB | 3 K |
Tim McClaskey in Game 2 …
| 2.1 IP | 2 H | 7 R | 7 ER | 5 BB | 1 K |
If a team gets a combined six innings from its two starters in a doubleheader, chances are it’s not going to win many of those games. Neither pitcher had his control. McClaskey’s five walks are alarming considering his history as a control artist. With all the focus on the bullpen, the reality remains the Barnstormers are a starter short.
*Yamel Guevara made his debut in Game 2 …
| 1.2 IP | 2 H | 0 R | 0 ER | 2 BB | 1 K |
This was his first professional appearance in the U.S. It came 3½ years after the righthander defected from Cuba to the Dominican in a boat. Congratulations to Yamel.
*Overall, the pitching was awful. The Barnstormers allowed 14 runs, 15 hits and issued 15 walks in 13 1/3 innings. The pitching staff has 78 strikeouts and 66 walks this season. That ratio isn’t going to cut it.
The hitters:
Mike Woods …
| 9 AB | 3 R | 4 H | 0 BI |
You may have noticed that Woods’ platoon situation is no longer in effect. He has apparently won over manager Von Hayes and is entrenched as the team’s leadoff man. He has scored 12 runs and has eight stolen bases in 14 games.
Manny Mejia …
| 6 AB | 1 R | 4 H | 2 BI |
Mejia was forced to catch both games because Lance Burkhart was out with a sore arm. Mejia continues to shine off the bench. His batting average is .375. The one drawback is he allowed three stolen bases in Game 2.
Vasili Spanos …
| 7 AB | 2 R | 3 H | 2 BI |
Spanos hit the Barnstormers’ only home run in the two games. It was his first homer since being put into the cleanup spot.
Jutt Hileman …
| 7 AB | 1 R | 0 H | 0 BI |
Hileman had a rough two games. He’s 10-for-52 early in the season – a .192 average – but he has been great in the field.
*The Barnstormers scored nine runs in 14 innings, but they continue to struggle mightily in clutch situations. If you combine poor clutch hitting and a bad bullpen, you get a lot of close losses. Lancaster has been ahead in 14 of its 16 games, yet has only won five.
*The ugly totals: 1-9 on the road … 2-10 when Zack Parker doesn’t start … a season-worst 3½ games behind first-place Somerset.

Let’s go Stormers. Way to go Murray.
GOOD LUCK GUYS!!!!
I WILL BE LISTENING!!!
Way to go Manny.
Spanos gets my Iron Man award. Guy takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
funny thing…Dave just made the exact comments I have been saying since Ross was released…how if Rleal and Cabrera were here…Cullen most likely would not be in the game now..well he wouldn’t have gotten hurt either.
Crap..I hope Ryan is ok…
thanks for the info on Cullen….scary thing!
Wow, way to go Glenn Murray!
Now, about Lancaster’s pitching as the score changes to 3-0….I wonder if they’d do better if they put a hitting tee in front of the plate? Maybe round up some neighborhood kids that don’t have paper routes. Maybe bring Russ Cleveland back to pitch. At least it was memorable in a good way.
Dammnit Mark…you aren’t supposed to be listening!!!
Looks like their going to blow the double header? I hope not but it doesn’t look good.
Come on Danny, make them pay.
I’ll tell you..I can’t imagine what these players are thinking when men are in scoring position. They mess up everytime especially Hileman. Although Stavisky and Spanos seem to know what to do. Ah forget it…all you get here is jumped on for giving your opinion just like last year.
oh…I forgot mejia..he was big today..way to go Manny!
Agree with you there pitchfork…on both points.
Can Cassa keep runners from scoring this time?
Man, what a slopfest. It reminds me of the mud wrestling scene in Stripes.
Nope to #14. Can we activate Rick Wise to pitch?
Cassa let’s all the inherited runs score again…
This may be the worst baseball game ever played.
Can we say BLOWOUT!
How about if I swing by and pick you up and we can go pitch? Or maybe they could rent one of those tennis ball machines and fill it with baseballs.
Jason, put the pen down. You do not need a sharp instrument in your hand at this time.
We need you.
Can someone please tell me why we kept Cassa and released Peeples?
“HFM” Von Hayes does it again?? Something is drastically wrong… If he can toss Peeples… shouldn’t Van Ross get the TOSS! Now?
Maybe Dave is sitting in an Amsterdam coffeehouse making stuff up and, in reality, the Barnstormers are ahead 14-3 in the 8th.
what…I can’t understand is our right handed batters failing to hit the lefty pitchers. Lefties are brought in to retire leftie batters.
It would take one incredible imagination to make up this game.
I’m glad someone agrees with me finally about Cassa…thank you ..Stormin
New team chant “Toss Von Ross”
Mark, you make me laugh. I was hoping that the Sports Juice feed was different that than the 1490 AM one. Guess not.
Going to watch Pen Flyer game. At lest I’ll see a GOOD game!
PF, read comment #17 under the “Peeples Released” post. I was hoping something different by comment #51. Guess not.
Sorry got Ross on the mind “Toss Von Hayes”
How pathetic are we now!!!! The opponents cant even field nine guys from a regular roster and we still lose a doubleheader.
Absolutely awful. Those season tickets are really starting to pay off now.
luelui..you meant Van Rossum..Lol
Can we clone Parker? If we loose him to Affiliated Ball (which may happen soon), we may need his clone.
Nice Avatar Mark.
I’m gonna close tonight saying we lost with 4 gimmies(4 walks with the bases loaded and still lost)….go figure!
2nd game I meant.
LOL….I thought it apt. Apt I say! I agree about Parker…I have a strong feeling we won’t be seeing much more of him. Ackerman has been doing ok but I can’t see he and McClaskey carrying this team themselves for long. Oh well, let’s see if they give me reason to change the avatar any time soon.
Then Toss’em Von Rossem TOO!
Yeah…Toss Von…maybe Klebe is available. Jump that wagon…….What a crock!!!!!
Idea.. How about they bring back the ice rink and have the “‘Stormer’s” play on it. Maybe they would play better?? Basekey or Hockball?
I am home now. Got home last night. Worked today. Pulled out the paper to look at the sports section.
Jason, why doesnt the Sunday News take the Barnstormers seriously? Is it because they see the team just an entertainment venue, not a bona fide sports team?? I expect to read an interesting article about the Barnstormers every Sunday. On rare occasions, there is an article by Mike Gross. But usually all I get is a small article on the previous night’s game. There is so much more information on your blog than I ever get from the Sunday News. I would have thought would have a weekly spotlight on a specific player or some aspect of the team like you do on Tuesdays.
I guess the Sunday News just wants to report on the local high school action. That is sad to me.
GO PENS!!
Luelui, I just read you were from McKeesport. I lived close to White Oak and made weekly trips into McKeesport for Junior Achievement when I was a teen.
As you know, McKeesport really has changed since you or I were there. Too bad.
GO PENS!!
Intermission.. Pack I lived in McKeesport 1951 to 1985. Been in Lancaster ever since.
Yeah I hate going back. It’s extremely sad.
I have to laugh about the Hotel Brunswick debacle. It reminds me of McKeesport and their late 60’s attempt at “Bringing back the shoppers to the inner-city”..LOL. My gut.. the convention center in town will will end up the same as McKeesport’s sad attempt to do the same. Oh well they say history repeats itself.
RECAP: I added some stats from the two games … the pitching numbers aren’t pretty.
“Lancaster has been ahead in 14 of its 16 games, yet has only won five.” That hurts.
“It would take one incredible imagination to make up this game.”
I distinctly remember Dave talking fuzzy bunny slippers one evening in 2005. I think he’s got the imagination part covered.
Luelui, I lived in Irwin from 1957 to 1975. College at Pitt. Then lived in Altoona, Bedford, Danville and Lancaster since 1991. My mom still lives in Irwin, so I make it back regularly. The last time I went thru McKeesport it was like a ghost town. So many boarded up shops.
Mark, great avatar. I like that you didnt even want the eye holes.
Did anyone see the Barnstormer add in the paper today that said “No Reruns this year”? I get the no game is the same/TV rerun gimmick but what I think they are also trying to tell us that this year is different from last. Yet so far it’s WORSE!!
Jason…. you have to fix this somehow!!
Well, worse IS different.
The good news is that the schedule tomorrow is empty. No game. The bad news is that the first York game of the year, this weekend, is away. I’m calling my bookie tomorrow morning.
Actually, they started 6-15 last year. So it’s not worse … yet.
I am starting mass production of Stormin’s famous ‘Optimism Pills’ It looks like I may need to start hitting them again.
Is Randall Simon the Pirate who assaulted (hit the mascot with his bat) the bologna (or was it a sausage) in Milwaukee and got charged with assault???
How far the mighty has fallen…
Come on guys! Pull it together! You are all I got!
Mark I think we might all be wearing paper bags at the Clipper if this keeps up.
This Pen game is getting tough to watch the announcers on VS are pro Flyers and it seems the ref’s are too.
Actually, I don’t need the pills yet, I’m still having more fun than last year. As much as I always said IM Fun wasn’t my thing, it’s SO much nicer with him back. There’s no debate. Cylo is as cool as ever. I do prefer one Cylo over the other, but they’re both cool. And all that other bs I had the pleasure of dealing with last year hasn’t happened this year, nor will it. When I add it all up, it would be just swell if the team started winning a couple more, just for the sport of it, now and then, but it’s going to take a lot more than this to really repeat what was last year.
How about we take up a collection and try to convince Denny to come back? LOL
Seriously, Jason, in your opinion, how much responsibility should lie with the pitching coach on the performance of the pitchers to date?
agree, it’s more comfortable at the stadium with Dr. Fun back. Plus the “Up With People” multi national team we have is a bit more suspenseful to watch.
There’s a limit to how much a pitching coach can help. He can assist with pitch sequence, maybe offer a tip about mechanics. But a pitching coach can’t make guys throw strikes. The Barnstormers had 15 walks today. That’s abysmal.
On the “Brighter Side of Things” category, we have not had a game winning, intentional walk, wild pitch. Yet.
Jason: Just saw Ryan Cullen took a hard hit to the back of the head. How is he doing?
I’m not with the team. Dave Collins said on the radio that Cullen was doing OK, considering the circumstances.
Another factor to consider with the pitching: When you release someone like Peeples after three appearances, or Ambrosini at the end of spring training, it creates an environment where everyone feels like their job is on the line every night. That’s not healthy and it might exacerbate the struggles of the pitching staff.
#56 Forsaken Milf ….. I feel sad for you. Why did he leave?
Go Stormers!
I agree with you Jason. It must be hard to perform under the constant stress on losing your job every.
Forgot the last word “day”. It’s getting late.
My husband Bob was an alcoholic.
I was up in Reading all day and couldn’t pick up the AM signal.
I agree Ultimate, this atmosphere is extremely stressful. They don’t know if the next strike out … will be their last. The boys must feel like crap.
Not matter what I will always cheer them on !!!
PS… nice name MILF !!!
Pack and luelui - Congrats on the 2-0 lead. As I said before the layoff is the killer. I still think the Flyers can win a couple, but we will see. I’ll be rooting for you if we don’t. By the way, Les Binkley was the 1st goalie to play for the Pens. I tried to put a link in but it wouldn’t let me post.
MILF stands for “Mother I love forever”, right? Thats what my sons friends told me when they were talking about my outfit the other day.
LOL
Maureen
I don’t THINK so Maureen… slightly different wording !!!
Geezzzz, the Flyers are killin me. I’m guessing Pens in 4
Who is the starting pitcher for Wednesdsay night game?
I thought that was why Ribeiro slashed Osgood Saturday night. Ozzie called his Mom a MILF.
Somerset is in 1st place with us 3 1/2 games back. They better pull themselves together Cuz we play Somerset 7 out of the next 10 games. 3 here .. 4 there or we’ll be out of the race real early.
Because of the rainout, the Barnstormers will have to use another reliever as a starter Wednesday. My guess is it’ll be Ricardo Gomez.
I can throw a knuckleball. Maybe I could try out these spot starts.
oops, forgot the word “for” above.
Sorry editor.
Go for it DJ. Because after Zack, this pitching staff has more question marks than the Mysterians. And I’m about to cry 96 tears if it does’t improve. As Pitchfork mentioned 7 of the next 10 games are with Somerset. Get those wins.
i will never step foot in the clip again unless they bring ross back… mark my words. i have been a season ticket holder for the last 3 years and never seen a stunt like this before.theyt need to get von out of lncaster.. toall the ross fans make signs for tuesdays night game stateing “BRING ROSS BACK” if we can get people to dothis maybe are word will get out.
The home games aren’t the problem tho. If the situation was reversed we could, at least, voice our displeasure at this cluster$&^# of a bullpen. I wonder if they still have the testicular fortitude to sit right up against the stands, in the open, with no protection from flying objects?
“more question marks than the Mysterians”
WHOA! How often do you hear THAT band referenced? Good job!
P.S. Trade in your tickets. Ross isn’t coming back. End of story.
Next Clipp game there may be one of those plexi-glass shelters around the bullpen bench. Similar to what those crazy Europeans do to protect soccer players.
——-
In all seriousness, I’m still going to take my kids to games and we’ll still hunt autographs and we’ll still have a great time.
And I’m still giving Von Hayes the benefit of the doubt, considering I played only two years in high school and coached Little League for 5 years. I’ve also watched some baseball on TV…and listened to Dave a several times. But even with all that added together, I bet Hayes know more about the sport and how to manage players than I do.
Gosh, I hope I’m right.
mark, we will see
Bring back Ross join us in the pen Tuesday night……… IF anything we can have some fun….
Anybody going to the day game Thursday? I’ll be there.
Just wanted to warn ya.
Yesterday’s second game was easily the worst game I’ve ever listened to, and I didn’t even have to listen to the whole thing. Four &$%#ing runs handed to it, gift wrapped and a bow on top with a card that read “Beat us or we’ll beat ourselves” and they STILL managed to lose. Badly. Bring back Peeples? Screw that, throw the rest of them out. He was just mediocre, the rest of them flat out suck.
Reading about DOminick again and again I am left wondering when you should release a player? Jason aren’t players supposed to be released in spring training? Of Dominick’s attitude did not match the managers he should be let go, end of story. We wanted a real manager and got one. He has the right to get rid of players that do not work for him. Von’s job is not one of winning a popularity contest. According to this site damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.
Going to a Red Sox game Tuesday. CRAP, the Barnstormers game looks like it could be an eventful one with the Ross Riots brewing.
Jason–Try to get a photo if you can of the protesters. This could be a dream story if police get involved. A nice photo of tear gas shooting across the field would be cool.
At least we know one players thoughts …..
“Von’s a great guy,” Woods said. “He’s not too demanding, but on the other hand, you know what’s expected of you and you go out and do it.”
Mike Woods ALB.com 5/12/08
Maureen,
I think some people are upset because one of their favorite players was released. If they want to use this space to vent, that’s OK with me. I haven’t been too critical of the Peeples decision. I pointed out why I think it was handled poorly. I don’t believe you should make a habit of cutting proven players after a week or two.
To be fair, we don’t know what we have with Hayes yet. He has a GREAT reputation. He has won 57 percent of his games. But he has never had control of his roster and has never managed in this league. It’s possible he’s too reactionary. That’s worth exploring or considering. If we don’t analyze the manager’s decisions, there’s not much point to having a blog. It doesn’t mean I’m right. It means I have an opinion and a place to express it.
Von should be a one man show from what I understand Rick had no idea about the Ross release and is pretty hot about this as is many of the guys in the club house. Like I said before if you do not like the leader you are not going to preform… This seems like last year the guys did not like Frank and look what happen. I for one am glad for the blog just to know that I am not the only one who feels like this about the Ross release..
kelley, i would love to sit ith you guys tuesday. but im not going to any more games this year. i so sick of vons choices. BRING BACK ROSS
Hayes has no clue how to run a bullpen… They are throwing way to much because outside of Parker he doesnt let starters go very far. I couldnt believe he pulled Nanni that early with a tie game. Sometimes you have to let your starters work through situations. Thats why they are starters.
Players released:
Peeples 3 app.
mendible: 2 app.
Nelson: 12 AB
This is baseball… your not supposed to succeed every time, although it would be nice… but Hayes is pulling the trigger on guys way to early… I believe someone said earlier that it might make it hard for the other guys to be comfortable when playing. To always take the mound or the field thinking if I screw up I’m gone is probably the reason the team is struggiling… Hayes needs to loosen up so that the team will…
Oh I forgot to mention the time Averette started and then was the first guy out of the pen the next game… Come on, He’s gonna blow everyone’s arm out if he doesnt let the starters go further because they have built there stamina for that
#93.. I think you will get your point across if you go and hold up a sign rather than not show up to the game (unless you are actually I.M FUN).
Maybe your sign should say “LAST GAME UNLESS RESIGN ROSS”.
dj.. I’ll be there Thursday.
dave, i am “I.M fun good friend” i am truly mad at what has happing to this team. ross was a great friend of mine. Now listin up to all you ross fans we need to prove are point. so what im asking all you guys to do is hold up signs sayin what dave has said.
Who said the guys don’t like Hayes? Mike Woods says he likes Hayes and doesn’t find him too demanding. And he isn’t even one of the guys who play here specifically because Hayes is the manager. So which players don’t like him? Find me a quote. Oh, that “t hake” poster who disappeared the moment he/she was called out doesn’t count. I don’t believe for a moment that was Travis Hake who, incidentally, doesn’t play for any team in the AL last time I checked. Further, Klebe was disliked for two reasons. First, he was a boxer with little baseball experience who insisted it was his way or the highway. Second, a couple of players last year went out of their way to forment discontent, both on the field and off. So no, this year is not like last year.
Per something a little more rooted in reality, is anyone else getting really, really tired of the people on the concourse trying to give away Hershey Park tickets or whatever if you listen to their sales pitch? It wouldn’t be so bad if you go once a month but, as a season ticket holder, I’m about –><– close to knocking some teeth down someone’s throat. And then I’ll be the one that goes to jail. That’s democracy for you.
Mark- That was in fact Travis. I can tell you that the word is that not only don’t the players like Von, but Rick and Boots Day don’t like him either. This should be an interesting homestand. And I totally agree about the people on the concourse. It is totally annoying.
LOL….that was Hake? Man, that’s too bad if it’s true. And I refuse to believe “the players” dislike Hayes until I see a quote on alb.com or the like, from an actual player on the actual team, that states as much. Todd didn’t seem to have any problem ripping on Klebe every chance he had last year. All I’ve seen so far this year is that one quote from Woods which looked like an endorsement to me. Is Woods lying? Maybe he should be the next to go.
Do you really think that a player is going to come out and say they do not like Von.. Come on they all are trying to stay here and play ball…… Would you put your job on the line??
Jason,
I have no problem with people venting, in fact that is what I am doing.
I do have a problem with the reactionary blame that Von is getting. The begining blogs were all about how Von is bringing players with him. Players who left their other teams to come play for Von. It is one month later and he is reactionary and is pulling the plug fast. Well, who is being reactionary. We are not in the locker room, we do not know what is happening. When Dominick was let go because of attitude, well that was good. It was the end of spring training Von had to let a player go and he saw the potential in Woods that he did not see in Dominick. We will not know why Ross was let go until someone tells us. Ross, Rick or Von.
Maureen
Todd didn’t have a problem complaining about Klebe and questioning every move he made every chance he had and skipping out days before the end of the season. Why would Woods say he likes Hayes when he could have talked about something else or have said nothing at all? Why would anyone have come along with Hayes and played here just to play for him? I have no special fondness for Hayes but it just doesn’t add up. I was quite vocal about my distain for Klebe last year and if Hayes does something to earn that this year, I’ll be just as vocal. But the only thing he’s guilty of so far, as far as I’m concerned, is maybe being a bit rash in releasing a slow-to-start batter and a mediocre pitcher, both of whom happened to be something of a fan favorite. My interest is solely in Lancaster having the best team in the AL. I pick my favorites based on their numbers, not the color of their eyes and how many autographs he signed for little kids last year. I would expect the manager of a team to see things the same way and to dole out grief when someone needs it. Find me the worst player on the team (if that’s possible) and I’d bet HE doesn’t like Hayes. Other that that, I don’t believe it because it doesn’t add up.
Well what would you think if I told you that Von tortures animals!!
Not saying he does, but I bet you wouldn’t like him.
That depends…I’m not real fond of squirrels. Or cats.
Wow, I guess I need to taked down my “Jason is always right” sign above my desk. Just kidding.
My book is still open on Hayes. He is new to this league and it operations. And as everyone knows, you are going to make mistakes. I don’t thing the Ross thing was handled properly and he will be missed but it is over and we need to get back on a winning track.
I support the Barnstormers whole hearted; win, loose, or draw. Hands down, Atlantic League is better than Affiliated any day, in my opinion.
If want to BOYCOTT the games, you are only hurting the players. They need our fan support. If you want to “Boycott” anything, then don’t buy any food, no items from the store, no bumper boat rides. The players need the fans to be there. If you boycott the game, what does that say to the players.
I will be there no matter what to cheer on My Barnstormers. I was there for almost every game the championship year and almost every game the basement year. GO STORMERS.
Mark, I agree with you on the sales people on the concourse. They gotta go. I was asked if I wanted any information about Hershey and I said NO. He then went out of his way to tell me I did not know “what” they were offering. I said I don’t care, I am here to see a baseball game.
One lady followed my wife to our seats. We let management know about it.
Hey, we have to feed our families too. Sure our work isn’t glamorous, but it is our lively hood.
I think that was me that followed your wife to her seat. I also followed you two to your car. You didn’t see me, nor have you seen me drive by your house.
In fact, even now you can’t see me…. but I can see you.
Let this be a lesson to the next person who walks right pass me.
Hi hershey girl!
See you Tuesday. These baseball people won’t even know what hit em.
PS. great party last week. I think I bagged 3!
Yeah, I was going to say something to Kevin about it last week but he looked a little preoccupied, so I’ll hit him up about it this week. If nothing else, I spend MUCH less on food and stuff this year because I’d rather go hungry and thirsty than have to run that gauntlet for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time today. If they don’t care about what a total pain these people are, maybe they’ll pay attention to the loss of income and start asking why that’s happened.
The kiosks in the mall that sell “Dead Sea Salt” and nail “buffing” items are the worst… next to the sales people that have taken over the Clipp. Your right Stormin they follow you and stalk you and I am tired of it. I’m sorry to say but I finally just started getting nasty with them. I don’t do Hershey park.. I HATE roller Coasters, PERIOD!!!!
#110… Do what I do. Bring your own food and beer to the game. I buy one beer then just keep filling up the same cup with the beer I keep in my backpack (which they never check).
I hate when places discourage you from bringing food, just so you buy theirs. I save about $20 by bringing my own food.
Then just to prove a point I jam my empty beer cans in the toilets.
Just kidding
I meant #111 (Mark in that last comment not #110….. but who really cares.
Geez, I’d go for the Hershey park tickets. The ones I’ve been getting are selling time shares and cruises. And some of them stalk ya!
I’m making it a point to never go to Hershey Park again. I wrote and suggested putting them in a kiosk or something. That would be fine. Even in the middle of the concourse. I don’t care that they’re there, I loathe how they get 3 inches from your face, don’t listen to a word you say (such as “NO”
and follow you around every time you dare venture onto the concourse for any reason. If they’re supposed to be behind a kiosk and one gets in my face, I will have no problem with the free dental work I wrote about earlier.

I swear one of the parking lot sales people inappropriately touched me one time as soon as I said I wasn’t interested. I have had trouble sleeping ever since the incident.
CRY, CRY, CRY, CRY!!! ahahahaha!
Listen, just by the ticket and we will leave you alone.
FYI–We are only getting stronger. As of last night, we now have clearance to work in the bathrooms. God forbid we catch you alone in there.
Wow…and I heard back already. Kudos! Apparently they’re aware of the situation and are addressing it.
#119 - ROFL! Just remember who’s selling and who’s just bought the mini bat.
Way to go Mark. You are now the official complaint department spokes person.
Hey Mark,
Can you do something about “hard” soft pretzels they serve at the clip? That would be great thanks!
The greatest “soft” pretzels of all-time were the ones you got outside the Vet after Phillies games. You could hammer nails with them.
Yeah, and you probably don’t even want to know what those pretzel vender’s did with the pretzels at home, pissed off at the world that they were selling pretzels for a living.
I can’t believe he still reads my email, let alone responded as quickly as he did.
I can do something about the pretzels, I can go to the Auntie Ann’s stand and get good ones. Very good, in my opinion. That new popcorn stand rocks, too. The caramel corn is great but even the “regular” stuff is really good, too.
The “Kettle Corn” is great. 8 bucks for a bucket and you can bring it back anytime for a refill for 3 bucks.
I wish they would do that with the souvenir soda cups.
Jason,
Amen on the soft pretzels at the Vet. They were great to pick up after the game, discounted, hard as a rock and cold!
Ahhhhh, memories!
Mike
Take it from a Phila native … the secret to the soft pretzels is the vendors have no place to was their hands after they relieve themselves on Pattison Ave! (only kidding).
Barney.. how many Mummers parades have you done… sober ?
a) many b) a few
Every Mummers Parade I attended.. I can’t remember.. Of course, that was a whole life time ago.
Took the kids to the Franklin Institute and couldn’t wait to have a pretzel… they are a part of the Philly life.. like cheese steaks and the FLYERS..
Actually was in a string band for about 6 months when I was in Jr High. The time demands were too much. Those guys (back then it was all guys) are really dedicated. My only regret is that I didn’y get to march in a parade. Before you ask what instrument think Lawrence Welk, Weird Al Yankovic, Polka’s ……. yes i actually played the accordian.
geez, how old are you people?
just kidding!
