If they can work together, this could be one of the Best Coaching Staffs in Minor League Baseball next season. That is what I hope happens.
Yep Booby..that is very true. and then we can hope that translates into success on the field as well!
two of my favorite players from the 70’s; It’s going to be good!
It seems that Tommy was eager to be back with the Barnstormers after a disappointing minor league experience. He understands, through past experience, what it takes to develop a winning AL ball team.
His stint in the minor league was at a very developmental playing stage with basically much younger ball players. The turn over at that level can be great and success is measured differentially. Maybe it wasn’t his cup of tea.
I am certainly looking forward to see how this coming 2009 season pans out.
I wonder who will be coaching at third base? Last season, Boots began the season and Von ended the season there.

I think it will be great to watch 2 players I grew up watching as kid on the same team. I’m sure there will be issues between the two of them, but there is in any profession. It’s just that on the field it more visible to the fans.
Players make managers look good. Without talent, Charlie Manuel would have a tough time winning.
If it was all just the players, why have a manager at all? Couldn’t the mascot just run the team? Players and injuries are obviously major factors but something tells me that a manager plays an intregal part as well.
To me it looks like Tommy can get the talent in and get the right attitude in the dugout. 2005 alright and 2006 great since then it looked like there was not team togetherness and motivation.
Von got talent but had problem getting it to Lancaster. The two together hopefully will put it together.
I see a very interesting 2009 season. GO STORMERS!
Former Camden pitching coach Dick Such has been named pitching coach at Salem VA…I guess we wont be the only Atlantic league team that is looking for a pitching coach now.
