Cliff Smith was a relief pitcher for the Barnstormers during their inaugural season in 2005. He went 3-3 with a 1.43 ERA in 33 games before being signed by the Pirates and assigned to Single-A Hickory. The righthander had an 8.68 ERA in seven appearances at that level before deciding to retire.
