Tom Cochran’s story is pretty rare. Players with his background don’t often get another chance. The lefthander hasn’t pitched in an affiliated game since 2004 and never advanced above A ball. Although he’s an accomplished lefty, he doesn’t throw hard and he will get his [...]

UPDATE:
Tom Cochran, today’s scheduled starter, has been signed by the Reds and will be sent to Double-A Carolina. The lefty was one of the last cuts by the Reds at the end of spring training. Eddie Camacho is taking Cochran’s turn in the rotation.

The Barnstormers expect to add Ricardo Gomez to their bullpen this weekend. The righthander, who went 4-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 44 appearances here last season, has been pitching in Nicaragua. He should be ready to contribute immediately.
