UPDATE: The Barnstormers have signed P Byron Batson.
The first seven games of the second half had the potential to be trouble for the Barnstormers. They faced Newark and Long Island, two recent nemeses, on the road. Lancaster was at risk of getting off to a rough start.
The Barnstormers went 3-4 during that stretch. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible, either. The real disappointment is the team could be 6-1 at this point. It squandered two ninth-inning leads, including Thursday night. It also dropped a game it was leading in the eighth inning.
The season-long, 11-game road trip ended with the Barnstormers two behind Somerset in the Freedom Division. They begin an interesting four-game set against York tonight. This series also includes a day-night doubleheader Saturday. When the weekend is over, we should have a better idea which of the Susquehanna Valley’s teams is in better position to contend in the second half.

2-2 prediction…..and no, there will be no help on the horizon for the Bullpen…what we have is what we have.
I would like to see Ross Starting and Eric Closing…
it will be good to have them Home. GL guys, the Brownies are in the Oven…..
See ya at the Clipp tonight!
Booby, are you my nieghbor.. did you smell the brownies baking this morning????
Nah…don’t think so Rad..but the aroma was unmistakable…Yummy.
aww, thanx Boob. Anyone taking bets on the weather tonight??
Well… it’s raining right now in Willow Street… 100% chance. LOL!
Checked the radar and it’s still moving up from the southwest and there are storms moving into western Pa from the NW… Hmmmmmm.
Pretty good chance we’ll be seeing rain for the next few hours… Game may start and then we’ll get some more around 9:30 -10:00 p.m.
Rain moves out by 2:00 a.m. with a beautiful day on Saturday!
Look out Joe Calhoun! dadweather.com
Raining in Mayberry….Uh I mean Manheim.
The Barnstormin God is clearing the skies!
Sorry gang, goling to see Duane Slaymaker tonight. catch you tomorrow.. night.
Great Game…Dramatic HR By Watson (Yes DadTB, it is Rocky’s Son)…Great Play by Mulhern(Did I say That?) & Turner….Nice solid Save for AA…Great Crowd…Wonderful Fireworks….Nice to be at the Clip again….Rad you missed one helluva Game….
dadTB…keep your day job. Don’t take up Weather forcasting…;)
MM..if you say one negative thing about this game, you should be banned from the site.
Great game tonight. Saw Parrish in the stands.. Hummmmmmmmmm wonder if he could be the next to be signed??? Aaron made a great play at third.
I wonder if Mulhurn needs a hearing aid?? Ross was yelling tag tag but he looked like a dear in head lights. Keep it going for the next six days..
Ross should have yelled tag tag to Herr too.
Mulhern made a nice play on Rose’s liner. VERY Nice catch, Ryan!
On the play that York scored their last run, did Mulhern not have his foot on the bag?? Was that why the runner was safe???
Big Al–fonseca had a nice ninth. He had that last batter swinging before he let go of the pitch. That last batter was definitely overwhelmed by AA. Nice save!
Nice home coming for Matt Watson–nice job winning the game on a home run in your first home game.
Sorry I missed the game, I listened to the first two innings Stormers ahead 4-0..
Will be at Greystone Manor all day but I think I can manage a “trip to the Clipp” tonight.
Welcome Mr. Watson.. hope you enjoyed a brownie!!
Hey Kelley – Watson is a Mayberry boy!
GO BARNSTORMERS! GO MAYBERRRY!
Yeee Haaaaw!!!
I thought Mayberry just produced Football players??
Well, in addition to the Football Factory we have here, we also have produced some very fine baseball players over the years.
I don’t think Watson actually went to Manheim Central though but it is my understanding he has lived here off and on so darn it we will claim him. LOL
Some Manheim Central baseball players have made it to major leagues. Some have played both baseball and football but are more well known for football like Jeff Smoker. As you know we also have some very fine football players too like Dan Kreider and Matt Nagy. There are many more too!
Go Mayberry!
watson want to Mccaskey with Parrsih.
Lets not forget to mention Graham Zug… PSU!
I haven’t been followin Zug much. I hear he did very well though. I try to keep track of Nagy, Smoker and Kreider.
Zugs’ daddy is a dentist..
Yeah and the Zug’s are my cousins!!!
Thanks for giving Graham a shout out!!
