Because of a scheduling quirk, the Barnstormers will play their final eight home games against the playoff-bound Blue Crabs. Lancaster’s wild-card hopes took a big hit over the weekend. The team slipped to 6.5 games behind Long Island for the final spot. Just for fun, the Aaron Herr walk-off homer video is embedded above.

Bringing back player of the game just for today. Lloyd Turner!
He had a great game, on base 6 times!
It’s sad to say, Jason, but I believe I can faintly hear the chanting of …”It’s all over. It’s all over” and the soft singing of “Sha-Na-Na, Hey, Hey, Hey, Goodbye!” (1969 by fictitious band, Steam… Yes, I was alive and in high school back then… LOL!)
Lloyd had one of those days he’s been waiting for…4-4! Way to go, Lloyd. You are my MVP for 2009! Lloyd, Lloyd, Lloyd….
Not a big crowd for Labor Day, but a very good and supportive crowd. It was a great day to be at the Clipp and nice to see the guys pull one out in extra innings.
Not sure about the Jason Cooper experiment… He is touching the ball, but batting below .100. By having him in the lineup right now, he’s hurting us offensively. The Stormers are not able to have Cooper, Mulhern, and Haran’s in the line-up at the same time. Somethings gotta give soon with Cooper! Either he starts hitting or we bench him and go back to what seemed to be working in that winning streak before he came to Lancaster.

I wish the stormers gave away an award for the most improved player, it would hands down go to Aaron. Just think a few months ago everybody wanted him gone. This season has had its ups and downs mostly downs but what else would you do on a summer evening? I can’t believe it is almost over came and want to fast. I am just going to enjoy the last two weeks and wait til January when they start to put another team together and then the first pitch will be here, and we can do it all over again. I am going to miss all the new and old freinds in the off season.
Fun game today!
I fully expected the home team to cave-in at the end, but Lloyd wouldn’t let that happen! Way to prove me wrong, fellas!
The most exciting thing (for my son, anyway) was he got the ball that Aaron hit to bring in Lloyd in the bottom of the 10th! Woohoo!
We happened to be sitting on the third base line and the kids moved up a couple rows to sit in the front. Aaron hit the ball, the 3rd basemen had the error, Lloyd came in to win it, a Crab player threw the ball to my son.
Fun stuff.
And tomorrow it’s back to school and work. *sigh*

I agree fannomatterwhat.. Aaron get that award hands down. He is happy to be playing and it really shows.
On a different note, I was a little uoset the other night. A little boy lined up some cards and tried to get autographs following the game. But not one player or coach signed for him or anyone else [for that matter]. This little boy was so hurt he had tears in his eyes
Syd, On Saturday night, a young man went to the LI Ducks dugout after the game and asked for his ball to be autographed. 5 players said no to him but one guy ( I think #31 or 35) stopped and said he would, the boy did not have a pen and that player waited while he got one. The fireworks were raining down and he waited. I am sad for the boy who didn’t get the autograph but happy for the story I saw play out. Some guys are just class acts!
I hate to say it but if the team lost the game they do not like to sign anything after words.. It is sad cause the little kids do not know , they are at the game to have fun even if we lost the game they still would like to get stuff signed.
