If three games is enough to be considered a slump, the Barnstormers are slumping. Badly. They’ve scored three runs in the last 28 innings and were nearly shut out on back-to-back nights before Matt LeCroy’s late home run in Game 5. Some of this can no doubt be attributed [...]

Through four games, the Barnstormers’ offense has taken on the hot-and-cold identity that plagued last year’s team. In the two wins, they have 17 runs in 14 innings. In the two losses, two runs in 18 innings. That could be a product of the short spring training or the [...]

The Barnstormers will have to get used to life on the road for a while. They begin a six-game trip on Long Island today and will play 17 of the next 23 away from the friendly confines of the Clip. This will be a test for Von Hayes’ crew, [...]

If the Atlantic League transactions page is accurate, Dominick Ambrosini has signed with the Ducks. That didn’t take long.
Ambrosini played for Long Island in 2005 and 2006. He batted .300 with 21 homers and 103 RBIs in 172 games there. His time with the Ducks ended when he was traded to the Bluefish prior to [...]

The Barnstormers have released OF Dominick Ambrosini, the team’s co-MVP last season, following a lackluster performance in spring training.
Ambrosini was 1-for-16 in the five exhibition games and was shaky defensively. He was dropped to 10th in the batting order before the fourth game and didn’t even start the fifth.
When manager Von Hayes warned that no [...]

The Barnstormers opened their exhibition schedule with a well-pitched and crisply-played game. They defeated the Long Island Ducks 3-1 at Charlie Gehringer Field Thursday morning.
This was the first glimpse of the 2008 team and a chance to see how Von Hayes will manage. His lineup, shown below, was a little different than expected. The manager [...]

August was the only month the Barnstormers posted a winning record. They went 16-13 and momentarily dragged themselves into the race. Lancaster pulled within 3½ games of Somerset before falling apart down the stretch. Interestingly, the Barnstormers didn’t make a single roster addition this month until the Reggie Taylor dispute was resolved on Aug. 28.

Derrick DePriest was the only member of the Barnstormers to make the postseason All-Star team. Rather than snubbing a big name, the Atlantic League also honored Danny Graves. So they’re co-relievers of the year.
Jeff Scott of the Road Warriors won manager of the year. Brian Adams of Somerset is pitcher of the year. Victor Rodriguez [...]

AT CAMDEN RIVERSHARKS
Nate Buttenfield (2-0, 3.82 ERA) vs.
Barry Armitage (3-1, 4.69 ERA)
The Barnstormers begin a three-game series against Camden, the one BASA team that appears playoff bound. Armitage’s unexpected experiment as a starter continues tonight. Although he’s not used to the role and isn’t really conditioned for it, the righthander hasn’t fared badly: He [...]
