Baseball America recently published its indy league postseason awards. Two Atlantic League players, Newark’s Javier Colina and Bridgeport’s Jesse Hoorelbeke, were named first team all stars. Three others, including the Barnstormers’ Derrick DePriest, were chosen for the second team.

The Barnstormers have acquired pitcher Ryan Harris to complete an earlier trade with the Northern League’s Schaumburg Flyers. Lancaster sent designated hitter Jimmy Hurst to Schaumburg on Friday.
In other moves Tuesday, catcher Lance Burkhart was activated and pitcher Phil Norton was released. The roster stands at 25.

Jimmy Hurst isn’t coming to Lancaster.
The designated hitter was traded by the Barnstormers to the Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League in exchange for two players to be named later.

According to this team’s official Web site, former Barnstormer Keith Maxwell has signed with the Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League.
Maxwell hit .270 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 42 games after joining the Barnstormers in July. The first baseman/DH also played for the Newark Bears last season.
